Thank the Lord I'm Not a JW anymore
by Irish Rose ini remember some time shortly after leaving the jws, i had some ask me this, and it was also brought back up again not to long ago.
what if the watchtower is correct?
would you regret leaving god's organization, knowing that you had it?

"They don't even know what they believe!" -- JW
by AlmostAtheist ina jw once said (more than once, probably) in regards to members of other faiths, "they don't even know what they believe!
" i know that's a legitimate quote from a real jw because i'm the one that said it.
i often found that the people i met in field service would claim to be a catholic or a methodist or whatever, but wouldn't have a clue about the beliefs of their church.

i hate when the dubs make fun of other religions, like the hindus and the cow thing, when they themselves are the most ridiculous of all...they have theri heads up thier %%& so far that they will never see the real truth..i wonder tho,how is it that there are new ones being made everyday?,is it just the societys rejects that want to be a part of something/anything?so they will be a dub?i just dont understand..

For those who've settled on 'no contact' with their JW families . . .
by Madame Quixote infor whatever reason.
do you question it sometimes and think you should try to "reach out" to them again?
i was this morning and then came across the thread above and was reminded why i need to stay away.. but, still, i read threads of people who have managed somehow, despite being d'f'ed or faded or d'aed and think i might try to be more understanding, supportive, reach out or something.. despite all the problems growing up in a fairly dysfunctional family, i still feel a deep attachment to them and hope against hope that they might come to their senses (if they ever had any to begin with) and get help and leave the cult of jehobo; and we might reconcile, etc., etc., blah blah blah dream dream dream.. i deeply wish for them all freedom and happiness and healing and feel so helpless to free them of their bonds and yet see so much possibility for it, if only they could be reached somehow.

If you could ask an elder your questions
by Heather inwhat question do you want to ask or have you asked that would stump or have stumped an elder?
i'm in the position where my mom wants me to come back and wants me to have my questions answered (even though she has dodged most of mine) so that i will once again see its the truth and want to return.
so i'm going to set a meeting with an elder to see if he would be willing to attempt to answer some of my questions to prove to me beyond a doubt that i'm in the wrong.

they wont answer anything..they will cry apostate, and run like rabbits..makes me wonder about the intelligence of those who are witlesses..superstitious as hell...

The Wonderful Effects of JW Meetings
by metatron ini can remember coming home rushed and tired after another pointless service meeting.
longer attend, i notice this semi-angry state of mind in my relatives, as they return home.
they would never think of not attending.. i can also recall seeing brothers race to the parking garage while ripping their neckties off and .

Attention former elders and ms: I have a question.
by R.F. ini'm currently a ministerial servant and pioneer in my congregation.
i want to begin my fade soon.
i'm going to get off the pioneer list first instead of quitting both positions at once, hopefully to ease potential gossip.

If Children grow up in the Truth but never get Baptized, why no shunning?
by NotaNess ini kind of understand the "never made the real commitment" part, but isn't learning the "truth" for 15 to 20 years, and going out into the "world" as opposed to committing,... the same as choosing to not accept jehover's (aka wts) ways and be with the brothers and sisters in union?.
why is the shunning treated different?
is it because, there's always hope by the parents, that they will come around?, etc.. .

Excellent question!!!!ive never gotten a good answer from a dub...but like the song says, you cant talk to a psycho like a normal human being.....i myself was newly twelve when i got baptized.was forced into it...now many years later, that decision ruins my family relationships...but my sisters kids, who have beaten their wives, cheated on taxes, oui, and been generaly miserable curs, never got baptised.so they are welcomed w/open arms...stupid...just plain stupid....im glad that other ssee it that way tooo...thanks....

Do you expect perfection in people?
by MariAruet inmany witnesses are perfectionists.
they have this image of what you should be like before they can accept you as a person, but even then you are constantly being judged, so you are never good enough no matter how much you try.
ive been reading posts here for the last few months and have noticed that sometimes people are quite judgmental and even abrasive with each other.

the whole perfection myth is how the fantasy of 'god' began,i think...its the 'grass is always greener' phenomon..just be glad w/what you are,and be glad for everyone elses quirks and bumps and twitches..honestly,would you want to live in a watchtower pictured paradise?sheesh..no wonder that satan got bored and decided to stir things up a bit...so would i!!!!
