  The dubs should have a big spaghetti feed on the memorial and feed the homeless..dressing up to pass wine and crackers to no one is stupid...

  when i think back, i remember being excited in the 80's.

  i remember the 5p food token strips at twickenham, london.

  you could get hot fresh doughnuts and burgers.

  Ours were usualy in High Schools.Hanging out in the locker rooms w/my girlfriends,and laughing.The dramas were pretty cool,too{pre mtv days}.The food was bad...It was cool to see other kids my age that were witnesses too...I hated the grilling on the way home in the car tho,so i would have to listen a bit to pick up a few points.luckily i can think on my feet and could always make up some generic 'praise be' phrasiology that would satisfy my dad...new clothes,new shoes{ouch}.getting up early to take care of the animals{we had a farm} so theyd be ok till evening..It was good family time,and I do have a fondness for it.of course I was under 12,when most things outside of the home were quite magical...

  i am not sure how many of you folks know about canadian, singer / songwriter: jeff healey.. he's one of the most talented persons to come out of toronto and make it on the international stage.. we lost a good one yesterday.

  here is the hypothetical question of the day - would you, or more appropriately, could you live forever in paradise on earth with jw's?

  with the hypocrosy, silly elders, silly people... feeding lions and cleaning up after animals... everyone living by waterfalls, like the jw's always portray in they're psychotic pamphlets..... or would you rather be dead.

  I think so.My parents sorta hinted that since i never spawned,and have no offspring,that maybe Id like to name the society as a beneficiary in MY will.I always try to be respectful to my parents,but the mere thought of it made me laugh so hard that i almost pee'd my pants..It sobered them up to reality again and they backed off....

  My mother told me today that the end is so close

  she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

  she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

  i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

  Flipper,your tale is exactly the same as mine..Tough one,no?Cause,like ,you dont really want them to realize that their whole life and all of the awful decisions they made regarding their family was based on a sham.but,we really dont want to hear the incessant 'end is near' stuff either..catch 22 ,my friend,catch 22...

  I'm being sued for moving out of my apartment

  if you don't remember my move out 3 months well, long story short, things weren't working out for my roommate and i, and we found someone to take my place.

  he signed the papers, and i moved out.

  he backed out of the agreement, and so my ex-roommate is left paying all of the rent.

  the watchtower society is quite ungrateful.

  they teach how jesus was sent to earth so he would be able to relate to people, yet, their circuit overseers, bethelites, and governing body live a life insulated from the real world.. it baffles me how hard some circuit overseers can push pioneering.

  it sure is easy when you draw a stipend, get a free car, free health/car insurance, and free shelter for doing nothing but going out in service a lot and giving a few speeches every week.

  just because someone's a witness, it doesn't mean they're horrible people.

  but the religion is very strange.

  when you think about it, a witness can't go to a work christmas party by themselves but if an unbelieving mate wanted his jw wife to accompany him, this is her personal business.

  I always thought that it was odd that as a kid growing up a jw,I could never accept christmas presents from 'worldly"people{teachers,classmates},but Christmas bonus's were welcomed for the adults in their workplaces.and i love the comment that someone made about hanging out w/nonjw family,but not exjw family.hmmm...can you say..fools?
