due to too much ngeative talk.
possible he says the rev may open another formum not associated with sl.bill says the effort needs to be concentrated on the coming court cases.
Master Hawkaw says,
***Put the Silentlambs web site link back on this board.***
Yes sir, how big should the font be? Anything else your eminense wants?
Your way out of line on this one Hawk. Your words carry a veiled threat, almost like the warning letters attorney's send to unsuspecting litigants.
Get off your high horse.

i guess this is more of a usa thing, but in the spirit of international friendship we have decided to put some effort into things this year.
he he ... this house is round the corner from angharad's parents and he raises money for charity.
the picture doesn't really do justice to just how bright it is (you can see the glow before you get there).
There is a long time tradition in my little town, involving one particular street. Pine St. Almost everyone living on this street, has participated in doing and outdoing one another with lighting decorations.
It has become so well known, that literally thousands come every year to walk this street. One of the homeowner's installed a loud speaker on his roof. He and several neighbor's perform segements from Scroog, fully costumed and scripted. They are quite good really.

one of the most interesting dogmas found among believers is the concept called free will- on the surface it starts out sounding reasonable, until you start the ask questions and listen to the explanations that are given , after awhile you realize it has no legs to stand on.
we are told by believers that god allows each person to make thier own choice and we are not robots and therefore we are able to exercise free will, the only problem is when you ask the question, what about when someone exercises thier free will and it harms someone else, why would a loving god allow someone the free will to hurt someone innocent, at that point free will sounds more like an excuse to give god a bye in terms of having to do anything- i read this posters comment and i couldn't for the life of me see any logic or reasonablness behind the concept of free will when folks get hurt like this person has-.
one of my earliest memories is of my grandfather raping me.
After reading Sand, Clash, and other fundementalists, it becomes very clear to me that they use god, the bible, 'righteousness', as a form of anesthesia.
Religion as a whole has served to anesthetize millions from personal responsibility. Once immersed in the 'blood of redemption', once annointed with heavenly 'grace', one can ignore all sorts of maladies. A cure for whatever ails you. An elixir of self medication for all who accept "the plain meaning" (plain meaning?) of what the bible says.
How someone can even assert the bible contains any 'plain meaning' is beyond me. The book itself a source for every slant, angel, view, interpretation, allowing anyone and his particular religious 'guru' to hypothesize.
Russell, Rutherford, Franz, some the more notorious as respects this forum.
Guilt, shame, and the need to pay for one's life choices, mistakes, have been the cataliyst for all religious dogma.
When you stop being guilty, and you start living the short life you have, without guilt without some manufactured need for 'grace'. Then and only then, can you even relate to what most bible believer's proclaim with little hesitation. 'Man was created in the image of God'
If you really believe that, then act like the mold you were poured from! Not like the miserable and guilty souls who thousands of year's ago, contrived to explain what god wants and demands.
Isn't God's handiwork enough to convince you what he wants? Isn't there enough beauty and peace, in the natural world around you, to demonstrate the kind of God he is?
He isn't anything like you 'guilt ridden', doom and gloom, repenter's paint a picture of.
Vibrant alive and full of color and beauty, all you have to do is open your literal eye's.

put down your new world translation.. stop quoting your time- worn texts.. look at your life, for god's sake, mr. average witness!.
all this obedience and constricted living is supposed to get you blessings!.
i simply gave up - both as an elder and a long-time witness.
Met,
I hope every jw lurker here, reads your thread.
In fact I think this type of sincere expression goes farther than any well researched, essay on jw doctrine. It is exactly what they never hear about, how those that are df'd or da'd really fare in the outside world.
Ther is a pitiful lack of knowledge about everything 'worldly' among the ranks of jw. Especially those majority of dub, who were raised in it.
Thanks for expressing it so well.

edited to add this ps: this is probably the second time I have ever rated a post.........I gave it a 5.

Sangdigger,
*** Feelings come and feelings go, and feelings are decieving. I stand upon the word of God, nothing else is worth believing.***
Liberty had some very good thoughts as relates to your declaration. Why does your stance carry any more weight than a muslim who stands on the word of Allah and the koran?
Just how did you come to your god and his word? Was it not by exposure to 'him' and 'it', saturated by the society you were raised in?
Culture and ethnic background, has far more to do with what we believe, than any actual 'truth' or absolutes. Why is this so hard for 'beliver's' to comprehend? A very sincere question btw.

hi guys, this belongs with the original post on or about nov 24th, 'watchtower roots'.. the watch tower's greatest blasphemy.
since his corporate coup d'etat after russell's demise.
rutherford had been busily fine tuning his fifth columnist mystical machinery.
blackguard,
I don't know why you seemed to have ruffeled some feather's around here, but I for one, have enjoyed your perspective on Russell and da judge.
I could just visualize Rutherford hunched over his opulent desk, reading Isa., and the 'light bulb' firing as he realized the uniqueness of a new name for his reformed religion. What better way to set his new empire apart from the rest.........the very fact that YHWH or Jehovah was mystical and almost extant in it's useage, was the perfect choice!
The new name surely would garner more attention, than perhaps Reformed Bible Students. He wanted something that would not only garner attention, but cause angst in entire world of christendom. It did.
His actions and policy from that day forward, showed his love for controversy, abolishing almost every vestige of formerly sacred 'christian' doctrine. Birthday's, christmas, holiday's, the cross, military service, etc etc. His 'new name people' were gonna subdue the earth, millions now living.........
I like your style, I enjoy your posts.......keep em comming.

jesus dying for our sins... um, why.. because adam made a mistake?
based upon what?
jehovah's rules?
Eric,
***I'd be able to relate to Jesus as my recompense for sin if the best he could have done for Lazarus was to weep. ***
A rather profound observation. Apparently Jesus led a very extrodinary life, the bible record indicates that he was teaching adults in the synagogs, at a very tender age.
So your thoughts as to living a normal 'imperfect' life are significant, when considering redemption.

Good thread Amanda.
Nobody has mentioned that after 'original sin' (kinda like OEM), god immediately had a plan, spent the next 3,000 yrs predicting the plan, causing cave-dweller's/tents to write down just how, who and where the predicted 'payment' would be made, not to mention that a majority would reject his plan/payment. God should have known.
If he (god) utilized so much time and energy to forumulate the plan, imbue it into the minds of prophets, so they could record it, should he not also have recognized what his plan would allow humans to justify/excuse in the name of his plan? Of course he knew all of hundreds perhaps thousands of various 'christian' religious dogma would result from the payment or fullfillment of his plan. If he knew so much detail 3,000 yrs before, did he exercise his Wt explained 'selective memory'/ 'selective prediction' about the whole affair? Think maybe?
There is way to many ifs, to make this whole story plausible. For the God of order, who created a masterful work of art, the universe, with all its 'checks and balances', to claim authorship of the 'redemption plan', one must conclude this god is disorderly and to say the least, a dictator who revels in chaos.
Somehow if there is a real God, I don't think he would want his name attached to anything related to this obvious myth, regarding paying him back, for something he never really gave up.

a guy was sitting in an airplane when another guy took the seat.
the new guy was a wreck, pale, hands shaking,.
biting his nails and moaning in fear.. "hey, pal, what's the matter?
LB,
Maui is about as good a final destination as I can think of. Snorkeling in Napili Cove (voted the most beautiful beach in the world-Conde Nast) was one of the highlights of our visit there. Not to mention the 'rainbow euchyliptus' trees on the 'road to Hana'.......Wow is all we could say.
That Hana Resort can't remember the exact name, is the hotel we plan to stay at on the next visit.
Have an idea where you will settle there?
Glad you made the exodus out of the Socialist Republic of California......we will probably do the same.
Animal,
Believe me I know to well. We lived right smack dab in San Francisco for 13yrs before moving down to the central coast of California......we were so happy to get out of that caldron of misfits.
This state is one of the most beautiful, but the freedom to enjoy it and the expense it exacts is getting out of control. The tax burden to support all of it socialist agenda, is literally driving people away.
