My love & adoration & total devotion to my children is overwhelming at times. They have made my life complete. If I am privelidged to see them mature & be happy into my 80's then I shall die a happy man.

Can anyone even begin to imagine the one-upmanship that will be going on in relation to who uses the Tuesday night/book study night, for spiritual use? "Look at me! I'm having a ministry group on a Tuesday!" "Well, it is a blessing to be able to use the time for other spiritual activities". God, the mind boggles.

how lousy will your weekend weather be?
by chickpea insadly, we have already lost a 100 year old white pine ( missed the outbuilding by less than a meter!
) and the tarp on the portable garage is in shreds.... we are in a total whiteout and the power has gone out once already for 4 hours..... last night we bottled 10 gallons of water since we depend on a well for water.and no power means no heat or pump!.

I'm with mouthy. I learned some positive things but it wasn't worth my decade. I have endured years of mental imbalance, nightmares, insecurity & depression. Only in the last year have things evened out. I am now failrly happy with the way I am. But those years took their toll on me & my relationships with my wife & family. The fallout from leaving the org was almost unbearable at times. I have very little to thank the WTS for.

Do you like yourslef?
by R.Crusoe ini find this question another i hate to think of!!.
i view myself through others which is a reality of zilch so it is bad karma for me to consider it!.
maybe its circumstantial of many life events but i'll bet exjws feel the power of the above dynamic as a negative force for humanitarian ectics and personal self worth!

I have a great deal of self confidence & I like that. It helps me to do what I do for me & my family. There is about 10% of what I do and the way I think that worries me. I suppose we all have our dark moments.

Issues That Made You ANGRY While You Were A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhen i look back, i think of some things that really angered me about the organization.
i was raised as a witness and i was taught from a very early age that "reaching out" was the most important things i could do in life.
i was to reach out for "privileges" and get baptized.

People who were in a position of influence who were basically bullies. Nothing spiritual about them. If they were in the world they would be no-mark bastards. But hey, they got me to waken up & get me out of the org. Fannies.

I can understand that you are in an awkward position at the moment. You are obviously well intentioned in relation to your family & this may work out. I really hope it does. However, I wouldn't bank on the members of the congregation being in wonderment about the holy spirit & it's role in appointing elders. From my experience, it is one of those areas which is easily explained away. I have even had people tell me that certain (evil, hideous) elders WERE appointed by holy spirit so that god can put peoples faith to the test. What can you achieve with this sort of mindset? I wish you well. Please keep us posted.
