Many things. I often think about how I willingly bent over & took it up the pipe from such horrible, demanding, self-seeking morons. I would love to go back & say a thing or two differently on a number of incidents that occurred.

If you could get back the time spent in WT what would you do differently?
by Thechickennest inis it too late to start over and pursue your dreams?
where would you likely be in life if it wasn't for the time spent being one of jehovah's witnesses?
was there anything salvagable from the your former life in the jw cult?.

Something Else I Was Thinking About...
by str8?so is spaghetti..until you heat it up insometimes i look back at my 27 years as a witness and am astounded by the amount of double speak that goes on in the organisation.
god loves unconditionally, but only certain ones, god is going to save the world from its downward spiral, but first of all he is going to destroy millions of evil people.
it is all so fatalistic and unkind.

I'm sorry you went through this. Bad, offensive, vile & rude! Any time that I see one of the elders on my travels, I thank fark that I am not subject to this sort of crazy stuff any more. To think that I ran around trying to avoid them all when I 1st left the org.

Welcome! I know a few active JW's who are gay. They don't seem the most happy people. In fact, they have been the cause of a lot of trouble in their congregations. Mental illness/severe depression has been a trend for them. The suppression of their natural desires has taken its toll over a period of many years. Shame. Enjoy your life. PS - Some of your comments were nicely put. Very true.

The one thing that disturbs me the most about JWs. Why can't they see it?
by MinisterAmos inever since day one of our jw experience, we have all been prayed to by the bro on-stage at least twice per meeting.
have any of you ever really listened to what they are asking from god?
at the start of my association the prayers were pretty generic, but now *every* one asks that god only provide for other witnesses.

They believe that we deserve to die. And a horrible death as well. Dishonoured with no burial. Our corpses eaten by wild animals. Why should they give a fark about praying for the rest of humanity when they have this hideous view of people.

Shoot the bastard!!
by SpyAmI inisn't it wonderful that jehovah is spending his time helping the governing body decide to do away with bookstudy, instead of helping elisabeth, and the thousands like her??.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/world/europe/04/27/austria.cellar/index.html?eref=rss_topstories .
(cnn) -- austrian police believe a 73-year-old man held his daughter captive in his cellar for the past two decades and fathered at least six children with her, according to police and state-run news reports sunday.. the woman, identified as 42-year-old elisabeth f., has been missing since 1984 when she was 18 years old, police said at a news conference.. the situation came to light earlier this month after her daughter -- a 19-year-old woman, identified as kristen f. -- was hospitalized after falling unconscious, according to police.

I feel the same. They accept that Jehovah intervenes in human afairs to make sure that a pioneer gets his car bill paid by an envelope through the door, yet he won't intervene in human afairs when it comes to matters like helping Elizabeth & millions of other children who are being abused.

700 million babies to be slaughtered
by hamsterbait inthe world population increases by 70 million each year.. this means that on the day armageddon strikes, at least 700 000 000 babies under the age of 10 wil be slaughtered.. 192 000 of these will be less than 24 hours old, many of them killed with their head barely hanging out of their mothers vagina.. how can the witlesses love a god that would do this - even long for it??.
it strikes me that for the witlesses morality is entirely relative.. i well remember the kingdumb song: "some paint god cruel" (wt does!!!).

A lot of Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs amount to pure & utter filth.

What was your saddest day as a JW?
by jambon1 ini had many days like this but i will never forget the time that a 'prominent elder' publicaly declared that he wants to see the worldly people die at armaggeddon.
"i hope that i can look out the window & watch it all happening".
i went home and thought; 'wtf am i a part of here'?

If the Bible was written more clearly, would there be a need to preach?
by easyreader1970 inpart of the reason there are so many divisions and opinions and versions of the bible is because, quite honestly, alot of it just doesn't make any sense.
it's full of symbolism, metaphors, allegories, parables, and even some of the narratives conflict with themselves.
the book of revelation makes no sense at all.

You are talking too much sense for the religious minded. It's got to be a big guddle of pure confusing bullshyte. Then the competition kicks off to see who can make the most sense of it. So far there are about 3 thousand sects claiming to see what it really says. Just what god would want eh? What a load of old bollox.
