  Depression and Dubs

  since i have found this forum i have been doing a lot of online looking, particularily spying on what the dubs have to say about all the negative attention they have been getting in the news of late and through the internet in forums such as this.

  i did a quick search on msn communites and came across over 70 online jw communities.

  one particular posting on one community (#1 rated jw community on msn if anyone desires to look it up) i read a message thread on depression.

  I wouldn't give Timo's comments too much weight. Another desperate, "intelligent" JW who needs his occasional argument-winning fix to keep his Watchtower-justifying thought structures reinforced. Cognitive dissonance is a terrible thing.

  I Gave 2 JW's My CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE Book

  i've been talking to 2 barely active witnesses for the last 9 months or so about the truth of the organization.

  the only person that they've ever confided to regarding their doubts was me.

  finally, on tuesday, i gave them the book.

  1 - they tell you they read it, but still are clinging to the idea but maybe it's the troof - if this happens, they didn't read it, or only skimmed through it

  2 - they actually read the book cover-to-cover - we'll be welcoming them to the board in the coming weeks

  any suggestions on movie rentals that might make a jw think.

  "what dreams may come" is a good one that i know of, so....any sugestions?

  I just saw "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". It was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, I really enjoyed it.

  It made me think about how JW's are becoming a sort of ethnic subculture, with so many of them having large extended families all in the troof, and very few coming in from non-JW families. JW's in some ways reminded me of the Greek family in the movie. If JW's would drop the bizarre and cruel aspects of the religion (shunning, blood) they could be almost legitimate. But their past is so screwy, it is going to be a while, and with the current regime in control at Brooklyn, thinks ain't changing anytime soon.

  I really think this is the future of the JW religion, they will become more like an ethnic subculture as they will inevitably be forced to drop the cruel and unusual aspects of the religion.

  i felt a little bit nauseous at first, but i made it, i plan on making it a regular thing.

  In the dog-returning-to-its-vomit category, I picked up Ozzy's Diary of a Madman CD today, I threw away my copy of it when I became a JW, along with many other CDs. IMHO 'Diary' is the better of the two Randy Rhoads CDs. I also bought a Best of Dokken CD, they were one of the only hair bands that made decent music.

  I thought about the Silent Lambs many times today, and may I end this post with "Phuck you Watchtower Pedophile Paradise!"

  here we are in the serverroom all is well- win2000 is running fine-- so what are the 6 of us doing --we are looking at the words of the wt spokesman.. .
