I believe that early on they had some pop-up/spyware problems because of the web-hosting company that they initially chose to host the db, but they switched to another shortly after and there have been no problems since that I know of.

Nice job on keeping her away from the pool at least until she's 18. Hopefully by then she'll have at least started to notice that things don't quite smell right in Jerhover's org.

Dec 15th & Jan 15 Watchtowers - change of thought?
by dozy injust been having a flick through the dec 15 & jan 15 jw only watchtowers.
(and no - i dont know how to pdf them or anything else!).
unusually there isnt a single mention glorifying the fads - in fact , jehovahs channel or any other similar expression isnt referenced at all (other than a single scriptural reference in the review of revelation in the dec 15th issue.).

Go through and count the word "organization" or "Jehovah's organization" - those terms mean more or less the same as FDS.

Jehovahs Witness Williams sisters revel in Obama win
by What-A-Coincidence inhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/4753181a10393.html.
the impact of barack obama's historic election win has extended to the tennis court, at the wta's year-end sony ericsson championships in the politically sensitive middle east.. .
as jehovah's witnesses, the williams sisters do not vote - but that does not mean they do not care.. nine-time grand slam champion serena williams said she walked out for wednesday's round-robin match against dinara safina with her shoulders back and her chest puffed out with pride after the momentous events in her home country.

There's a lotta black r&f jaydubs that have similar feelings I'm sure, even if they won't admit it. Being black in America is a tough row to hoe no matter what your religion is, and so how could they not feel a degree of 'hell yeah' at Obama's election.

TO CLARIFY A COUPLE OF THINGS ABOUT MY PROJECT.....
by Mary infirst of all, i want to thank everyone for all the words of encouragment and compliments i've received regarding the project i put together.
not only will it (hopefully) help some family members to see that something's not right regarding many of the wt's doctrines, but it was therapeutic for me to do as well.
like many other ex-witnesses, i was emotionally devastated and extremely angry when i discovered that this religion was not "the truth" as was drilled into our brains from day one.

Interesting Local Needs Talk: Don't Invite Studies To "Our" Get Togethers
by minimus ini heard that the most recent local needs talk was regarding the evils of having non witnesses at "our" gatherings.
since there's nothing really for "us" to talk to "them" about, and since "their" conversation will not involve anything to do with "the truth", we should guard against "worldly" association.
it appears that the cult wants their members totally removed from anyone not a witness.

Nothing new - I never encountered non-witnesses at get-togethers except the occasional non-believing spouse.
I remember getting together with some bros to play softball one sunday after the meeting. This kid that none of us knew kept circling around on his bike near where we were playing, and it was obvious that he was wanting us to invite him to play, but the alphas there were very obviously ignoring him. I said something to one of them, and his response was, 'well, if we let him play, then we'll have to let everybody play'. There was nobody else around! What a bunch of pr!cks. -

"Pearly Gates"
Billy Gibbons '59 Les Paul ,"Pearly Gates", is the source of the Rev's heavenly sound.
As a young musician weaned on blues and rock in southern Texas, Billy Gibbons' life was forever altered when he heard the sound of Eric Clapton'sLes Paul and Marshall combination on the John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers album. Like a crusader in search of Holy Jerusalem, Gibbons set out eagerly on a quest for his first Les Paul. After stumbling across a few choice finds in the course of his search, including an original '58 Flying V, Gibbons finally found the guitar of his dreams several years later. Nicknamed "Pearly Gates", this '59 Les Paul fell in to Gibbons' hands through a series of strange circumstances and coincidences. "In the early days of ZZ Top, we acquired an old thirties model Packard automobile," explains Gibbons. "That automobile served us well. It was huge, flashy and lowered, but not intentionally--it was just, plain old. Not long after we got the Packard, one of our girl friends decided to head to California to try out for a part in a movie. We gave her the Packard as a way to get there. Not only did she arrive, but she got the part. We named the automobile "Pearly Gates" because we thought it must have had divine connections."
According to Gibbons, the girlfriend sold the car to a collector and sent the money back to the band. Her timing couldn't have been better. "The very day that the money arrived a guy called me up wanting to sell an old guitar," says Gibbons. "It was a '59 Sunburst Les Paul. I bought the guitar and called the girlfriend to thank her for being so kind. She said, "it looks like the car went for a good cause. Since the money that put the guitar in our lap came from selling the Packard, we'll lay claim to the name Pearly Gates. Now you can go make divine music.' Try as I may I hven't been able to find another guitar that sounds as heavenly."
Gibbons has played this brillant burst on every ZZ Top album since their first, and its thick, sweet tones have confounded a bevy of guitar builders who have tried in vain to imitate it godlike voice. The '59 Gibson Les Paul may be the one of the most desiralbe electric guitars, but Billy Gibbons 59 may be the most coveted Paul of all.
