My Story Pt 2 "Iam made grotesque"
by acolytes injehovers witnesses leaders put tremenderous guilt and pressure on the flock.
they never put tremenderous guilt and pressure on god.this is wrong for the simple fact god does not answer prayers regarding suffering and evil-.
anyway after the fiasco with the unbuttoned shirt sleeve in pt 1 of my story my eyes were opened to this callous organisation.. i was forced to assume grotesque qualities.

acolytes, it's sometimes hard to understand why some threads get so many responses and others don't.
Congratulations on finding your way out of the organisation and hope you are successfully reclaiming your identity.

My story pt 1 "The begginning of the end"
by acolytes inmy dislike of "mickey mouse" elders peaked in angry disgust when a inspection of my personal closet detached one of the sleeves of my shirt unbuttoned.
i was then repremanded and threatend with expulsion from the privalige of working the microphone.i grudgingly accepted the necessity of buttoning my shirtsleeve as i belived in our just cause of helping bring about universal soveringty.. however as a result of the above event gradually and barely noticed by myself iam moving into the worldly life.
gradually the contours of the future are appearing.

I guess it was a blessing in disguise that they picked on your unbuttoned shirt sleeve.
In Australia this would never happen as you would have been wearing your suit jacket over your shirt while doing the microphones.

On the move to real Kingdom truths!!
by trustsinJah inmy fellow brothers and sisters!.
i feel compelled out of gratitude and love to write this little tale, not because i have lost my faith, but because i realize i am not alone, and as heb 10: 24, 25 states: and let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.. i have never felt nor would i ever think that that scripture applied solely to meeting atendance.
the form of true christian love displayed by many here on this board affirms my faith in jehovah and lets me know i am not alone!.

The new "Find a Brother" arrangement - I went to the meeting for the first time in months tonight
by slimboyfat ini went to the meeting for the first time in months tonight.
during the announcements the presiding overseer mentioned that the "find a brother" arrangement was being moved from wednesday nights to saturday afternoon.
what in the name of god is a "find a brother" arrangement?

I also noticed they don't even bother to include our names in any of the groups any more because we have been inactive for a while.
I'd be happy about that. It means you are less likely to be "shepherded." I was still on the list five years after I attended my last meeting.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses a Christian denomination? The Feb. Watchtower seems to say so
by slimboyfat ini have not noticed the witnesses referring to themselves in the literature as a christian denomination before: is this a new development?
the february 1st wt says on page 22:.
"a high-school textbook, world religions in denmark, published in 2007, described jehovah's witnesses as a christian minority who follow the bible closely.

There are a couple of interesting comments in this article.
"Neither the word "Trinity" nor the concept is found in God's Word."
How many WTS terms are not found in the bible?
Surely, someone who strives to obey Jesus' commands can be called Christian.
What about non-JWs who "strive to obey Jesus' commands?" I often hear JWs referring to themselves as "true Christians." However, when speaking about others they use the term "so-called Christians."

A picture I should have taken 25 years ago...a personal story
by JustHuman14 inthis picture was my graduation from high school.
i wasn't there to take that photo along with my classmates and teachers.. .
25 years have gone ever since...still after all those years, many times in my dreams i used to watch my self taking that final picture.

Would you like to pay me a visit?
Here in Adelaide, South Australia, we're having a heat wave - 3 days of 41 degrees C coming up (or 106 degrees F).
Although this is a little on the hot side, I'm not complaining - I love summer.

I think that's called "irony"
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land ina friend quoted on facebook something from etsd (which turned out to be "examining the scriptures daily"), i guess from today's text:.
life in this present system is too short to waste on endeavors that leave us empty-handed.... .
well, finally something from the wtbts i can agree with!.

TJ, when I first read your post I thought that doesn't sound like something the WTS would say. Well sure enough, it's there in the text for Monday.
"Life's too short" is one of my favourite sayings, along with "don't sweat the small stuff."
I guess your friend was inspired to continue in personal study, meeting attendance and sharing the "good news". What a waste of a life!
