My JW sister has a wicked sense of humour and is a lot of fun. I can only imagine what she would have been like had she not been a "born-in" JW.

A Touching Heartfelt Experience at The ATM Machine!
by caliber ina touching heartfelt experience at the atm machine!.
it was a very touching experience that i had this last weekend at the atm machine.
it was about half an hour discussion but what follows is the highlights that i remember most vividly.. it begins with a once a upon a time pioneer partner of my wife (h4o) coming in to the atm.. jw says....how are things going?

I was listening to your conversation and I say Amen to you my Brother!
A total stranger "gets it" straight away. But you can talk until you're blue in the face and a JW can't think past their own robotic brainwashing.
Congratulations on keeping your cool and explaining yourself so eloquently.

Thank you, Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society!
by David_R ini wanted to say thank you to the wbts for enforcing a 'no-contact' rule on all those that have left the organization.. only by experiencing first-hand my former best-friends treating me like a complete stranger (see 'garbage') for standing up for my own beliefs was i finally able to tell the society 'good-bye' forever and not feel guilty about it.. i know this was not the wbts's intention from the alienation practice.
it's intention was to make me feel guilty and lonely enough to come back to them.
however, it has backfired on them and finally given me my freedom.. thank you, society, for lacking kindness and understanding.

An Odd scenario
by Junction-Guy ini am on many different discussion boards, not all are jw related.. .
on one particular board i have been shunned and outright mocked for my religious and political beliefs.
this board practices heavy censorship, almost like the watchtower.

Junction-Guy, if you've been treated this way already and the meetup could be uncomfortable, I'd give it a miss. Life's too short.

Latest Witness comments about no more Bookstudy- Rejoicing and happy????
by Witness 007 ini've asked afew witnesses at work and around town about no more bookstudy.........they are all so relieved!
one elder with four kids said..."it will make things alot easier, with rushing home from work, the society understands our needs.
"......another brother said: "it's great, now we can go to the cinema on half price tuesday's!

Comments I've heard:
- "Why do we have to wait until January?"
- "I don't feel like going to the group now."
I gather most JWs are pretty happy about the new arrangement. Except for some of the elderly - to them it's like a social event. Especially where they meet in the morning - they sometimes go on to have lunch together.

Please Share your Experiences of Abusive Judicial Committee Meetings
by flipper ini had noticed on the board recently of several posters mentioning what they , or someone they know has gone through being brought before a jehovah's witness judicial committee - so i thought it would be good to share experiences so we all can get an idea of what has worked for some of you in dealing with it , and also methods to use when dealing with the elders , and it might open some lurkers eyes to the injustices suffered by many - which by the way usually isn't discussed in the rank and file witnesses .
many of you know my experience - so i will be brief.
long story short i was inactive for 3 and a half years , scripturally free to remarry , had not attended meetings for that long.

Although I wasn't disfellowshipped, I was so traumatised by my JC - I vowed if I never did anything "wrong" again, I wouldn't confess or get hauled before a JC.
Well, I did "fall into temptation" again but stuck to my plan. I just felt like a bad person for years and thought I would die in Armageddon.
That was many years ago and I'm over it now but I feel for the young ones who might be going through similar now.

Former workmate dies, I'm in shock
by Junction-Guy injust this week we received some tragic news, that a former workmate died.
i'm taking it kind of hard because i was his training officer when he first hired in.
he was just a little younger than me and had suffered from diabetes since he was young.

Junction-Guy, sorry about the loss of your friend.
It's sad when it's someone you wish you'd kept in touch with. I worked with someone whom I got on very well with. He was a poet and I wrote him a poem when he left. He wanted to keep in touch but I was in the middle of my fade and reluctant. The last time I heard from him he was in England and very lonely. A couple of years later I caught up with a ex-workmate and heard that my friend had died of cancer a year earlier. He died alone and wasn't found for about a week afterwards. I regret not keeping in touch.

New Here
by LearningMore ini have been lurking here for a couple of months.
i was born and raised as a witness, and am a little weirded out to even be posting on here (you know the paranoia).
anyway, i faded about 10 years ago, and after reading so many posts, i am so happy that it was a pretty uneventful experience.
