What false beliefs do worldly people have of the JW's?

That they don't believe in Jesus.
Yeah, I've seen this misunderstanding as well. But, now that I think about it; it makes sense as to why this belief has circulated around other Christian churches. Think about how Jesus Christ has been relegated into a less promient role by the JW faith. * He is not the mediator for 99% of JWs. * 99% of JWs do not partake at the Lord's Evening Meal. * 99% of JWs cannot identify themselves as Christ's brothers. * JWs give more of their allegience and adoration toward the Organization and the "Faithful Slave" than they do Jesus. * JWs believe that Jesus' ransom was sort of a "half-ransom" or down payment, as JWs must also perform endless works for the organization to gain salvation - a concept that is nowhere to be found in the NT. * Jesus has been placed into a sort of ghostly, behind the scenes role and has been assigned the role of being the Governing Body's advisor or consultant. JWs cannot have a personal relationship with Jesus Chirst. They must have a personal relationship with the Watchtower Society instead. Perhaps those individuals had good reason to say that JWs don't believe in Jesus.

by the sage inwho listens to mike malloy air america internet 10 to 12 pm central time?

Ah, yes, Mike Malloy. The intellectual treasure chest who refers to George W. Bush as "Chuckle Nuts", Laura Bush as "Pickles", and refers to Republicans as "bastards". I find him to be very crass, yet I still like listening to him for some reason.

IS JEHOVAH A PERVERT?
by jayhawk1 insometimes i wonder how something made it into the bible in the first place.... genesis 38, the story of judah and his daughter-in-law tamar.
background judah's firstborn son er was bad in jehovah's eyes, so jehovah put him to death.
genesis 38:6. so judah being the good father that he was gave tamar to his second son to have sex with and have children in the name of the fallen er... we pick up reading in genesis 38:9.

Isn't it interesting that the omnipotent power of the universe supposedly allowed his name to be removed from several ancient manuscripts, but saw to it that lurid sexual escapades and hedonistic violence by his beloved servants were retained intact.
If one were to make a movie from all of these Old Testament accounts, it would be rated NC-17, therefore unacceptable for Witnesses.

Evolution - and the Long Overdue Synthesis
by metatron inwhen you look at the evolution vs creation controversy, the impression you get is similar to hezbollah and the.

That's not strictly true as the order of creation in the bible is directly at odds with the order of biological evolution. For instance plants do not occur first in the fossil record like they do in the genesis account and the first flying creatures are not contemporaries of the first sea life
I see what you are saying. Actually, the two different creation accounts place the different creations in different orders, but I guess this is a minor point anyway. I guess my point was that the language of Genesis really can't be used by fundamentalists as absolute "proof" that evolution is unscriptural. But, I personally have no interest in trying to reconcile a piece of Hebrew literature with evolutionary science, since all of the archeological evidence shows that humans have been here for at least 2 million years, thus proving that the Garden of Eden account is nothing more than a mythological story.

firstly, i offer this disclaimer: i am not a scholar.
but i can add and subtract.

Why on earth does anyone even care what thirdwitness and scholar have to say? Everybody already knows what they will say:
Watchtower Society's interpretations = Good / Godly / YES
Archeology and Historical Records = Bad / Worldly / NO

Maybe the holocaust mesuem is a bit out of place there, as there are some more historical places here where there are museums of that kind....
Yeah, I just remembered that the Smithsonian has a U.S. history museum. I haven't personally been inside, but I hear that it is probably the best U.S. history museum anywere.
And also, the National Archives has the Declaration of Independence, and some other neat stuff on display.
