the society has always been against tithing..........a stand they took from early times and which hasn't changed............ do you think they now wish they had incorporated tithing, with all the money they seem to be requiring.
(ex.- every year the donation options mentioned prominently in the watchtower).
tithing has obviously worked well for the mormons, what would happen if they now decided to include this "principle" today?.
It is interesting how they ignore that old testament principal while everything else seems to have a modern day fullfillment or application .

Had they not demonized college educations so much, many Witnesses would have higher paying jobs; which would make tithing more reasonable. No way will they ever institute tithing. Too many Witnesses are barely scraping by.

there was no earth-wide flood. the entire flood story was passed down from generation to generation in memory of some ancient, traumatic regional flooding.
One of the best researched books that I have ever read on this topic is: "Secret Origins of the Bible". The writer; Tim Callahan presents an enormous amount of evidence that points to the various mythological sources of the Genesis flood story.

I recall certain articles in the Watchtower and Awake speculating that Noah took seeds with him into the ark. This poses a big problem since thousands of plant life are specifically suited to local climates and regions. For example, there are certain plants that do not grow anywhere else on earth except in the Amazon Basin.

Why oh why have they had the same amount of meetings that they have had a hundred years ago????? Why haven't they been "simplified" for the good of the people? My thinking is it doesn't benefit the Society at all to have less meetings.
You must see all of the meetings for what they really are: Indoctrination Sessions. The WTS must keep the rank & file fully indoctrinated in what to think, and how to think. If Witnesses had more time on their hands, more of them would start to do more research. It wasn't until I quit going to meetings that I had the time to start doing in depth research of the Bible, archeoolgy, history, and science.
The JW schedule as designed by the WTS is typical of cult like groups. The goal is to keep the members so busy and so indoctrinated, that they don't have the time or energy to actually think!

why does it seem that when i read the threads from folks in the uk it seems they are preoccupied with a lot of research into the wts and changes into their beliefs?
why not just let it go and go on with life.
I'm not so sure that the Brits are any angrier. This isn't something that I have noticed. I think it may depend in large part on the particular thread topics. Some subjects just evoke more anger and resentment than others. There are certainly topics that get me angrier than others.
I think that getting angy and expressing it is an important part of the healing process. It's a typical process that people from the Unification Church, and other high control groups have gone through. It's just a temporary phase for most people.
