has anyone read this section about witnesses?
the tower is tricky isn't it?unfulfilled predictions.
individual jehovahs witnesses have made predictions over the years regarding specific dates and events that have not come to pass.
That's what happens when anybody can put what they want to in something which tries to pass for a reference source. It also ilusstrates why one should be careful using Wikipedia.

This is exactly what I was thinking. It's totally insane. If anybody can just go in and delete any information or data that is not to their own personal liking; why the hell should anybody even take Wikipedia seriously? From now on; I certainly won't.

i can't understand why the rank and file can't see who is really causing the pain by seperating loved ones over personal beliefs.. one woman says about her disfellowshipped brother, "this has been so hard for me to bear because in every other respect, he has been a wonderful brother to me.
i especially miss him at large gatherings.".
Read what Steven Hassan wrote in his book Combatting Cult Mind Control. See if you can find any similarities:

It's as if the "Slave Class" is using the techniques right out of the book: "Controlling Religious Followers For Dummies".

i'm 21 years old and i left the the jw's when i was 18. i was born into the religion so it's been really hard getting use to things.
my story is pretty complicated and for some safety reasons i can't say to much.

Are you serious??? They actually tapped your phone? How did you know it was them? Did your family notify authorities? I don't know what the Canadian laws are for that, but here in the U.S. it is illegal - big time for someone to do that to someone else. I understand if you don't want to talk about it, but I just found that amazing and, I am curious.

But after an investigation, police now say the intruder Kuhnhausen strangled was apparently a hit man hired by her estranged husband ? Michael James Kuhnhausen Sr. ? to kill her.
This guy gets my vote for boob of the year. This kind of scheme sounds like something you would see in an episode of "Murder She Wrote". This guy is going to be the laughing stock of his prison cell block.
The really funny part about this is; you know there will be at least a few women writing to him in prison asking him for marriage proposals.

i have been into history, for as long as i can remember.
Cairo, Egypt has also been one of the places in the world that I want to see the most. But right now, I wouldn't go there. After the Iraq invasion, anti-Americanism has increased greatly in this part of the world. Even if nothing happened to me, I would still feel extremely uncomfortable. I don't think that I would be able to enjoy it.

if anything were to happen to the pope, things could get very messy.
I don't think that it would result in a major war. It would be considered another major act of terrorism in the global "war on terror". There wouldn't be any particular nations to declare war on. But, I think that it would arouse an enourmous amount of hostilities around the world. Hate crimes against Muslims would skyrocket.
I think that this snafu is very revealing. It's very interesting to observe how among the Muslim extremists, it is perfectly acceptable for them to preach slogans such as "death to the Zionists" inside their mosques. Yet, when the Pope criticizes not Islam at large, but the extremists factions; they are enraged with "righteous indignation". Talk about double standards.

i remember after my sister got baptised she said that the brother who dunked her under told her not to listen to a song, i think it was "new sensation" or something like that which was a popular song for the 80's period.
i remember a lot of songs being banned because of lyrics that had nothing to do with what they thought it had to do with.
I remember a talk about dangers of independent thinking, and the c.o. was critical of "MY WAY'" made popular by Sinatra and Presley.

today i was at burlington baby depot registering for my baby shower, stolling up and down the aisles and scanning.
