Well I may have been a bit too aggressive with my discussion with the sisters husband, am not sure if he is an elder or not, but here are some of the things I asked him...and some answers:

Is the NT for the anointed only - YES

Is Jesus a mediator for only the anointed - he said yes and no...Jesus mediates for all...I think the Insight book talks of him being the anointed mediator, doesn't it?

When were the Jehovah's Witnesses established - gave the answer that the Bible shows since the time of Jesus, but would most likely be noted since late 1800s

When were they chosen as the truth - he said most likely the early 1940s or so....he did not really know, I asked why they were celebrating Christmas at this time and he said that is a good question but he said that was one of the reasons that the JWs are such a wonderful religion, they are willing to admit they are wrong and change things........

Not sure how I got to this, but we discussed how the jws do not celebrate holidays and the like because they are not biblical, and they adjust their doctrine to reflect things non biblical...I then asked him why they have honeymoons and use wedding bands, since they have pagan origins and he asked me to provide him info on that so we can discuss.....so I shall

A while ago another sister was to provide me Trinity book references, never did, so now he said he would, he asked why, I said I like to check the sources....now to get my references together...help??!!

I told him I was an engineer and I check into things, and he said that is great...so now I feel I can present printed documents...so I may be able to start to bring these home for my wife to see.......

He wants me to call him and further discuss some things, so I need to get my ducks in a row...any additional thoughts??

Is shunning/disfellowshipping biblical, at least when looking at the NT????

And am I correct in stating that the NT is only written to the anointed and Jesus is the mediator for the anointed, not the great crowd??

My wife's parents have been df'd, mother doesn't care, the father seems to be trying to get back in favor, should I ask about the shunning principal in light of the NT???

I may talk about how I am an engineer and do QA by my trade, then research may not be an issue....I also got the line from my wife that I am a smart person so she has no idea how I have not figure this all out by now.....I hate full jw mode!

This sister is in a full assault on her!!!

What turned me away from the WTBTS.... PART 1

sigh.... wished i would've introduced myself proper in my first post here, but having the fear of being found out too quickly or not being the right time made me censored myself from revealing too much info.

recently though, i just felt the need to get this off my chest, despite the possible risk of being called out, which several jws in good standing are aware of my exact situation.

i registered at the new site (jw support something) since theres some buzz of this site is going off line, but hadn't received my confirmation email yet.

thanks so much for sharing megawatt....I can appreciate what went through a little bit, wife became a citizen last year, but at that time had no jw activity, so we did not need to be concerned with that, with all the hoops you go through, I could not imagine having to jump through that additional hoop!

ok, just got off the phone with my wife and she has started a new bible study with still another new sister.

she likes this woman, unfortunately.

well my wife's original intention was to learn how to study the bible, well it seems that the sister twisted this to ask her to provide a topic she wants to know more about and then she will show my wife what the bible says about this.

ok, just got off the phone with my wife and she has started a new bible study with still another new sister.

she likes this woman, unfortunately.

well my wife's original intention was to learn how to study the bible, well it seems that the sister twisted this to ask her to provide a topic she wants to know more about and then she will show my wife what the bible says about this.

don't know if already posted , but august 2008 kingdom ministry gives details on 2008/9 assemblies.

it also confirms that the cos will be in place for at least the next service year as it refers to them taking assembly parts on both the spec day & the assembly.. special day theme is "keep watching the ministry - that you fulfill it" (col 4:17) lots of fs related parts - symposiums on how young & old find fulfillment in the ministry etc , interviews with youths , kids & old folks.. ca theme is "keep conquering the evil with good.

" includes a symposium on "stand firm against the devil's crafty acts" - "help us identify & reject sly machinations of the devil in the fields of technology , entertainment & eduction.".

Yep, don't forget the pubs released at the recent assembly did not reflect the generation changes from what I have heard!

well I guess I shall see, will be interesting to ask a few questions then when she wants to talk about her study tonight, if she wants to.....she has now stated that she is going to the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday meetings as well, I guess this sister really fired her up....one risk with my wife though is not to be too challenging, if I push back at her, she may just attend to irritate me...one of her more endearing traits!

What would be a good way to raise this sort of issue??

Would this be a fair issue to ask the question if the nt is for the non-anointed??? Also maybe a question on who the moderator is for the great crowd??
