Tv.jw.org - Average Jdub reaction? I'm getting NOTHING but Silence!
by 4thgen inhello all, as you know, when jw tv was announced, our board went wild.
many comments, much speculation and alot of negative feedback on the quality, etc.
well, what has me concerned is that i have not heard a peep from any of my connections left in kingdom-land.

My wife merely stated how amazing it was that things like this normally take up to two years to launch and with the guidance of the FDS they were able to launch in two months.....

I Don't Think The Witnesses Really Care If You Can Explain Doctrine As Long As You Accept Them!
by minimus ingone are the days of getting into discussions about their beliefs.
doing major research to prove a position or watchtower doctrine is a thing of the past.
all they want from you is to surrender and accept everything they say as undeniable truth.. do you agree?.

So now the org is playing it safe.
About the only thing they can talk about is the promise of paradise earth......won't it be great when there will be no more illness, you will be young forever and you can play with the tigers and lions and bears.
They used to try to defend no Trinity, no cross, no holidays and even no blood, but now the conversation twists to paradise earth....and jw.org

I would agree, the answer I have always gotten is something to the effect 'let me ask an elder' and then the topic is never brought up again!

More JW bragging about the Landover, MD. convention. Please have barf bag at the ready before reading
by AndDontCallMeShirley inthe following e-mail is circulating among jws about the international convention at fedex stadium in landover, md.
note the all-too-familiar jw claims: everything they do (including the simple act of parking cars) is proof of jehovah'stm blessing, and everything wt did at the convention was the fastest, greatest, best ever.
oh, and the never-fails-to-get-mentioned alleged 'persecution'/resistance from some unnamed authority who tried to get in watchtower's way and hamper the effort...but jws prevailed anyway (as always):.

And I thought that mass transit was strongly encouraged for those going to the convention, so a lot of folks did not pay attention to the guidance to not drive personal automobiles.

this must have been a point of emphasis for the congregations in the area of the Landover DC, my wife made sure she told me almost verbatim the same thing, guessing must have come from the service meeting.

Freaking out a Jehovah's Witness
by jgnat inas you know, my husband has physically left the witnesses.
he nevertheless clings to many of the beliefs like a protective cloak, and every once in a while i trigger a dissonant episode where my reality clashes with his.
recently he listened in on my work research, a video of a futurist describing the a potential "disruptive change" event in the next fifteen years, as our culture shifts to autonomic (driverless) vehicles.
