Amazes me that they always say there teachings are directly from the bible, but then the teachings are always changing, though they say the bible is without error.

Does any other denomination change Doctrines as often as JW's?
by TerryWalstrom inwould i err in stating most religions and denominations have set doctrines?and yet, the watchtower's version/rendition of christianity is riven with contradictions which stem from changing predictions, policies, doctrines, and interpretations seemingly adrift from foundation or principle.wouldn't you think the constant upheaval, sifting, churn, and reorganization bespeaks whim, mood, uncertainty, and wilful speculation more than divine guidance?there's something endemically jittery and insecure about this religion which i would opine has more than a little to do with unstable mental affect than mere whimsy.what's your take on this?.

Watchtower’s 53 Date Failures -- Prophetic Declarations Quietly Abandoned
by FatFreek 2005 inbelow is a paste of the front of my recent essay.
ask most jws today and they'll tell you that, yes, watchtower has made a few mistakes -- that there are a couple date failures -- 1925 -- and maybe another one they can't even remember.. lest they forget, the following should jog their collective memories as to how egregious watchtower has been in their obsession with date predictions (oh, but we don't make predictions, they may tell you) over the 138 years of watchtower history.. len miller.

I would be interested in knowing if the new compound was patterned after anything in the business world and if so with its location not too far from NYC I can see it getting sold at a huge profit to some corporation not too far in the future.

It just amazes me how my wife when asked about any change in the doctrine can respond that the GB is continually guiding the organization and things do change. I asked her if the bible has changed and she just sort of quizically looks at me.

BTTT / Marked topics
by Simon ini've noticed a lot of topics being bumped recently with "bttt" (back to the top) comments or "marked" as the reply.. i'd appreciate if people think twice before doing this.
simply forcing topics back to the top even though there is nothing to say on them is not helpful and negates the usefulness of having an active topics view.
if everyone did this with every topic they want to push then things would quickly deteriorate so i don't believe some should be allowed to do it for whatever reason.. by all means post new and relevent comments to a topic but short esp single-word non-comments that are simply used to push certain topics back to the top are likely to be interpreted as spam and removed or blocked if necessary.. .

I would concur with what AnnOMaly said, if it is important enough to bump something, an explanation of why the bump has been made would add some clarity and also may encourage additional discussion. I am thankful to many of the posters who have brought something back to the top because I may go days without being on here and it may be something I wanted to read, or should have read.
