  I will have to side with Oompa on this, after reading his post...read the end of Revelations on what it says about adding to or subtracting from the Bible, then think about the 'restoration of the divine name', adding (other) in Colossians and many various revisions made to the scriptures.......that has to be the biggest secret that they are holding so close to their vest...

  Which "Michael" in Daniel? Really need a little help here

  this refers to the on-going michael the archangel is jesus argument.... my wife gives daniel 10:13, 21 and 12:1 as proof that michael is the post-ressurected jesus.

  are those versus even referring to michael the archangel or some other michael?

  if so, where is the proof that it refers to him as jesus?

  i may have an opportunity to discuss why i no longer attend meetings with an old friend that i ran into the other day.

  she is very zealous - a pioneer for many years.

  i've printed some newspaper articles that refer to the child abuse scandal.

  Worshiping the cross

  there is a poster on here called reniaa and she has said a few times that we worship the cross.

  i know i don't and know my family don't.

  so i decided to look into it to find out if what she is saying is true.

  Well I was raised Lutheran, and the same for the Lutherans, they do not worship the cross, it is a remembrance of the suffering and sacrifice.

  phobias, certainly, are created by an anger/aggression response in a particular zone in our brain.

  it triggers powerful hormone production such as adrenaline, to get us ready for fight-or-flight.

  fear of hurting someone else if you stick up for yourself

  This is the sort of situation I find myself in, I know so much about the past and the deception, as well as the origins about the JWs, but I do not like to hurt my wife, and right now she will lash out if I raise issues, I know it hurts her as well when I question what she is trying to believe in.....

  I try to ask questions, just things to get her thinking in hopes that she will find out on her own, for I truly believe, most people do not make changes due to people putting information into their hands, they are often to stubborn, but if one can raise some inquisitiveness, then they may find out for themselves.

  The amazing thing I see is there really are very few secrets, most all the information is available, often in WTS or other credible documents, if one does a little research:

  If I had to choose a few:

  1. True position on Hitler/Nazis
  2. United Nations
  3. Changes to the blood doctrine
  4. Changes to the generation teaching
  5. Changes in literature between the original printing and the final binding
  6. The list of the pedophiles that has been kept

  Ran into the JW table at San Diego airport...

  yes, my ladyfriend and i were entering the san diego airport for our flight home to phoenix late yesterday afternoon, when i noticed a forty-ish man and woman sitting down behind a table loaded with wts publications.

  i stopped to glance over them with joy.

  i made familiar comments about some of the publications, noting the newer soft covers and trying to casually engage the pair in conversation.

  Blood Alternatives DVD prepared by the WTS

  hello, my wife told me last evening she had watched a dvd on blood that was given to her by the gal she is studying with.

  i saw it briefly laying on the table, it was produced by the wts, believe it was from sometime around 2005 and was in a few different languages.. last evening she commented on how many options there are in addition to blood transfusions that people can take, including a massive blood loss.

  i asked her if some of these options involved fractions and she said she really did not know.. has anyone here seen this dvd (sorry for the sketchy information) and if so is there a summary available on what it presents...would love to have some good questions for her on this that could point to some issues with the doctrine.. thanks....will try to get the dvd title.. .

  Yep, that is the one......not sure when I will get a chance to watch it....my wife said it was really technical, but I believe it ignored the situations where transfusions are critical, did not address how fractions are derived and merely spoke of bloodless alternatives for surgeries....
