My wife told me about this great new publication last night and how it was going to be used in meetings by witnesses where the bible brochure is going to be given out in door to door.
Is that the intent of the new book, a meeting supplement?

WHAT WAS YOUR AHA! MOMENT THATIT WAS TIME TO EXIT THE BORG?
by freewilly01 ini had a huge light bulb on moment as i wasy in therapy dealing with a nasty anxiety disorder for many years and having a huge trigger in my life finally silenced.
it was almost the last thing that i thought i would end up doing expecially if you asked my wife and myself even a year before our decision to " live " thats how i view it not decision to leave...........it was a decision to live.. .
my therapist psychiatrist asked me who are you?

For me, it was subjugation of women. That was the big one. I also did not believe in their interpretations and I saw major contradictions with the Bible and their doctrines. After every study I was always left with the feeling that things just didn't add up. Many times my thoughts were "That's not how I interpret that."
I don't see how any woman living in the industrialized world could put up with how women are treated in the WTS, and even moreso, what would the attraction be for a wife with a UBM.
It is fascinating to me to hear things that have brought folks out, hoping my wife will have a 'eureka' moment!

Collins' website attempts to cure people of the notion that the UNIVERSE is less than 10,000 years old
I know that the WTS states man is about 6000 years old (was supposed to have been in 1975, so I guess 6034 years old), how old do they claim the earth to be?
The Collins website is great!!!

One elder said from the platform that Disney World was the closest thing to paradise on earth.
Has this changed since some of the gay friendly press about DW.
About two years ago I finally read the books, looking so forward to the movie, great entertainment!

How would a study be counseled on divorce???
by insearchoftruth inthis probably seems like a strange question, i know that the jws will only allow a divorce in a very limited number of circumstances, but what would their view be towards a study getting a divorce if no adultery involved, if her husband is a ubm?
?.

he really is not allowed to discuss jw things with me anymore anyway
Is this due to the rules of the WTS or is it individual household rules?

The biggest scandals in your local congs
by jacethespace inwhat was the biggest scandals[or incidents] in your own congregations that got you starting to doubt whether the watchtower was what it made itself out to be?.
one the things for me was the attitude of the people in the congregation after i had took some time off meetings and then returned again.i quickly realized there was no unconditional love only conditional love.also when the watchtower had a letter read out from the platform warning us to not watch the bbc panarama documentary on the watchtowers child abuse problems.and everyone just avoided watching it and said that it was "satan"trying to use anything to get us out the "truth".

Spiritual endangerment can include outright apostate type activities or simple things such as being unhappy when they abandon family to spend time on all jw things, not allowing jw literature to be out openly in the house, family doing fun things while they are gone and not waiting for the jw to come home to join them because the world should run on jw time, continuing celebrating holidays as was always done in your home since the day you got married, etc.... I could go on on the many ways I am a spiritual endangerment but you get the idea.
So it sure seems to run the gamut of ANYTHING........is this determined by the local board of elders, is there written information or could it even be determined by an individual pioneer based on what she sees fit for a situation.....
I guess in the mind of a JW, breaking up a family is a small cost for being able to draw in a new member......how sad.
