by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

End of the Preaching Work?
by Slidin Fast inthere is a rumour (from someone who should know better) that members of the gb are going round saying that the preaching work is accomplished.
this comes from a seniour elder and i therefore take it a bit more seriously than some sources.. if this is true then it kinda links in with the reduction of the half awake and the watch slightly-higher-mound-look-out magazines.. has any one else heard anything?.

The WT will never call an end to the door to door work- it is free publicity and busy work to keep the members slaving and feeling guilty they are not doing enough.
And in addition it is one more thing that the elders can use if they want to call someone on the carpet for not being a good JW.

Memorial, why isn't there the post memorial excitement like there is with an assembly
by insearchoftruth ini know that the assembly is supposed to get the folks all excited about how close we are to the 'end of this system of things' but when my wife attends a memorial, she says nothing at all after it, even though this is supposed to be the most important night of the year for them..

One thing I have noticed is the the JW buzzwords are being used quite frequently by my wife during the memorial season, 'the truth', 'congregation', 'publisher', etc, words she never uses, which will more than likely fade away over the next couple of weeks.

"They" do not call it recruiting work. I and other ex-JW's call it recruiting. But yeah, just busy work.
Thats true, I guess better stated they seem to think it will serve to bring in new members, but seems to be pretty fruitless.
A change in what they are doing, even the reduction in the size of the public magazines is going to add some new zeal to the members, another way to spin we are closer to the end, don't have the time to read 32 page mags, only 16 page mags.

2) Renovate it with free labor
3) Sell it a few years later for huge tax free profits.
4) Repeat
Think it is referred to as 'flipping property', though generally done at a faster pace. Who will they be able to flip the compound to?

The annointed remnant figure rising - a question
by jambon1 inhaving been out of the loop for a while on here, it dawned on me that the figure of memorial partakers has risen substantially from when i was a jw.. i think i bowed out at around 8500 in 2006.. can anyone briefly explain what the main reasons for this increase are and if it is ever discussed among jw's because if i remember correctly, the figure should be going down, not up.. thanks.. j.

They blame the increase mainly on mentally unbalanced ones.
So the increase in the numbers that they report in general must be due to mental unbalance......

"No" to all the above. The only thing they give two $h!ts about is Memorial attendance, so that's all they have to boast about.

I am surprised that they do not try to put a press release of some sort in the local papers like they do for the assemblies, but I guess since the whole thing is so strange and negative someone needs an explanation prior to coming!

They call it recruiting work, but it is really merely busy work. There are three women from a local congregation who perform their field service weekly out by the side of our building, they are there holding a stack of literature, but I have never seen them address anyone at all, I purposefully walk right by them many times and even say hello and no response to me at all, so what is the true zeal, none!!!
