ever noticed that the most cleverest apostates are the ones that were "brought up in the truth"?
i mean people like little toe, leolaia and narkissos who provide the most intelligent dicsussions on the forum - they never chose the witnesses, but were dragged up in it.
do you think maybe they can't help but look down on the rest of us who were stupid enough to actually choose to become witnesses?
Is their a hierachy among apostates - between those who were brought up Witnesses and those who converted to the Witnesses?
No~ Why would there be? I was raised a witness but would never put my self in a different class then someone who wasn't. I am just glad that they're out whether they've been in for their whole life or got baptized last weekend.

It may be a different matter for children, but once you become an adult it's up to you to take responsibility
I agree as an adult you have to take responsibilty. But, it's in a way different for JW children...Because, you were taught growing up you had the right religion. You could even prove it to others . You studied with your parents so you were learning the 'truth' to. There wasn't a need to re- examine it as in adult. They didn't just tell you what to believe. You learned it on your own. You had no reason to believe that it was wrong. But, it's not till your an adult that your mind can reason and even think something is wrong...yet there is many that still will never question it. Because the religion is so deeply enbedded into their whole life. You can easily think (and were taught) that everything could be wrong but the one thing that is a fact and right was the religion.

ok i have googled this and can't find a list of foods that contain blood.. i have learned from this board that chocolate, milk and hotdogs contain blood.. does anyone know of more or when i can find a list of foods that contain blood?.

MSG other wise known as monosodium glutamate contains blood. It is used by the food industry as a flavor inhancer. Its in everything from meat to Dorito's There are alot of warnings against it since they say it causes alot of side affects.
my husband and i were both raised and baptized as jehovah's witnesses.
my husband was an elder for over 15 years.
during those years when he was an elder, our eyes began to be opened to what was going on behind the scenes, that their organization was more political than biblical.
I am so happy you got your daughter out!! Props to you for doing what most of us would never do...no matter how much we love our relatives! How did you not puke everytime you went to a meeting or out in service for two years?

When everyday ordinary people all around the world all act the same way, believe the exact same things,hate the same people etc....you have to wonder. If a person stops going to the meetings that is when sometimes a person starts seeing 'the truth'. Why do they push meeting attendance SO much? Although I don't know if its hypnosis....it has to be something.

the truth" brought out the sceptic in me
I was a sceptic when I was in the 'truth' I didn't believe any thing that some apostate or a molested child had to say. I am not saying it's 100% true but I wouldn't put it past them.

I know you can see 'things' in natural things like trees clouds etc. But, if I drew something you could try your hardest and NOT fiind something satanic. Why wouldn't the society use demonic things to influence the minds of people?? The society has such a hold on people its crazy! And you are lucky if you end up half-way normal after leaving.
