Alrighty then. I think you're only fooling your self if you think you're going to feel less depressed. Why in the world would you want to go back to all that crap? Obviously, your heart is not in it since you post and visit this board. What really is your motive for wanting to be reinstated? I'm with Orb. I don't get the reason for this post. Hope you have a happy life living a lie.

Do you still call it "the truth"?
by True North indo you find youself still calling it "the truth" even though you are an ex-jw?
for instance, in one posting i just read, the poster wrote "when i was in the truth..." .
not a big deal, perhaps, but really not such a good thing either as it's a habitual holdover from the program of mental conditioning we were subject to.

No way. "The truth" it is not.

Do you find the forum addictive?
by avidbiblereader inhow many find that they need or want to be on the forum at least once a day?
do you like keeping up with fellow posters and friends or do like being able to give your thoughts without the fear of being criticized?
i look at some of the amounts that some have posted wow and i am no better for only being here less than a month, it is a great place to talk and get loads of wisdom from others on a variety of subjects, thanks everyone for the thoughtful expressions and heartfelt posts.. abr.

I'm with you all. Totally addicted. I love to read all the posts. I am a bit shy when it comes to writing my own though. It just makes me feel good to know that there are other people who understand what I'm feeling inside, as most of you have experienced the borg and the trauma of leaving it. It's been a difficult journey for me that no one can understand unless they've traveled down this unfortunate path. That's why I'm addicted to this board.

Confessing to the elders...
by tan inhas anyone ever had to confess their sins to the elders...left out some of the details or "other gross" sins...but wondered if you were truly forgiven of your sins?
or was reproved and given back your priviledges but knew that you didn't tell everything.
how did you feel afterward?

Are you kidding me? I didn't tell them half the stuff I was doing. No way! There was way too much on the line to lose. I just had to play their game. Cry a whole lot and each a huge serving of putrid humble pie. My elder dad gave me the advice to just act sincerely repentant and everything would be OK. It worked 4 times and then finally I DA'd myself.

BIG TOE INVALIDATES BAPTISM. :D
by vitty in.
did anyone have to get dunked twice at their baptism because you still had your big toe sticking out of the water ????.
ive seen this happen a couple of times.

Yes, I've seen people have to be re-dunked a few times because of some body part still exposed during the initial dunk.

Why I'm mad at god.
by Abandoned inthe past couple of days, i've been posting a lot about how disappointed and even disgusted i am with god and how he runs his universe.
i guess that probably offends some people.
i don't intend to make people feel bad, but here's what's been going on in my life lately:.

I just feel so sick and tired of fighting only to find out that I've only risen up to the bottom
I can totally relate to that! This has been an extremely rough year on me too, but I'll spare you the details since this thread is about you. My heart empathizes so much for you. Sometimes when you're down it just feels as though you keep getting cut off at the knees every time you try to get up. I find myself angry at my parents for bringing me into this hell hole and then having the whole JW prospect of living forever....pleeeeease. That's one thing to be very thankful for--being freed from the borg. It truly is a struggle to keep a sunny outlook with a big rain cloud hanging over your head. Take it one day at time, and try not to be so hard on yourself or God (although this can be difficult). We are here for you, and we do care for you. If you need any one to talk to pm me. Sending you a big e-hug.

Sick?
by defective light ini went to the doctor today, was feeling really bad....waiting to see the doc, i notice a "jw botchtower" magazine in the waiting room, it made me ill that someone would leave that trash in a public place, so i just tore it up and put it in the trash.... i wonder now....am i really sick?
your thoughts will make me feel better....

Actually my daughter did the same thing. She saw JW mags displayed in her university library so she took them in the restroom and trashed them. She'll be glad to know that others do this too.

This is my first Christmas too. My children and I are so excited. This is our very first Christmas that we have ever celebrated since me and my kids were raised as JWs. However, my husband is such a bummer. Unlike the rest of us in our family, he had a pre-JW life. He is still holding on to the belief that Christmas is a pagan holiday and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it. We haven't officially been out of the borg for a year yet, so maybe he'll come around next year. Somehow, I doubt it. Anyway, the kids and I have had so much fun decorating the house and the tree. I have always secretly wished I could celebrate Christmas. I would see movies and TV shows with families all together etc, etc. My husband said it was all Hollywood fantasy and that wasn't at all what Christmas was like in real life. At least he had the whole Christmas experience growing up. Funny though, he has admitted that his best memories are during the holidays with his family. So what's the Hollywood fantasy? If you've never experienced it, it looks so wonderful. I don't know. I'll get back to you in a couple of years! One thing that I am really enjoying is listening to Christmas music and singing along out loud...makes me feel warm and happy and makes my husband grumpy.
So to all those who are experiencing the joy of their very first Christmas like me....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!
