i guess next week will mark the co visit at my congo.
should be loads of fun for all since last time he publicly humiliated and literally tongue lashed the yoots for dressing worldly and the moms for letting their children cry.. the 20 something guys had the audacity to wear flashy ties and dark shirts, the baby room was being used by a korean book study and it was raining outside.
wtf were the moms supposed to do with their kids when there was literally no place to put them.. something that i found very interesting was that i was exempt from the flashy tie and dark shirt thing even though i made it a point to stand in front of him and take off my coat while discussing the down pour after the meeting.

well our fade seemed to be going along pretty smoothly even with the slight hitch of having to attend the memorial .
then this weekend good old mother in law who lives a thousand miles away , and talks to us once every few months , called, on speaker phone no less .
i know she has informats here and she has been dropping hints for months that she knows something is up , but she never comes out and just asks .
Troubled Mind
It's time to put your boxing gloves on matey! They seem to have some kind of 'hold' on you. Don't make any more excuses TM. Be strong and if they need or deserve it...hit 'em where it hurts and speak the truth! It's your life TM, NOT THEIRS. Hope it works out.

from what it sounded like the special talk was another whose side are you on jehovah's or satans.. from the beginning the speaker said there is no new information!
he said "if youre not for jehovah then youre for satan- case closed!".
he also mentioned that jehovah has always had control of his creation!
Yes that's mind-control alright! Stay here or else you're a child of the devil. DAMN THAT'S SINISTER!!

when you give your 12 year old daughter a big squeeze when you get home from work.
she'll feign embarrassment and complain "oh dad" because she's not a 'kid' anymore but she won't pull away.

I think we may be hijacking the thread here, but i see where you're coming from and tend to agree. People can be addicted to all sorts of emotional turmoil, like 'love and heartbreak' for instance. JW's become conditioned to living in a climate of fear, as i was. The only way you can 'put up' with that is by accepting it. Whether 'putting up' with something is the same as 'getting a kick out of it', well that's a subject for debate, but how else can they be going through with this if there's not some kind of 'enjoyment',a kind of perverse 'self-whipping'. A person that truly LOVES themself does NOT put up with this!

i don't know of anyone who can answer this question totally but i do like this man's response!
i've posted the link to this before.

His avatar is one SYD BARRETT, founder member of the original 1960's PINK FLOYD and subject of the classic Floyd track 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond'. Mr Barrett is mentally ill and has been for some years. Maybe that can give you a clue to thr craziness of shining one's posts and why he usesthe avatar.

i'm usually the first one to stir this particular pot but it get's so frustrating to keep coming up against the same old arguments.
the phrase "banging your head against a brick wall" springs to mind.
how many times have believers argued for a designer but refused to answer the obvious question of the designer's origin?.

I don't think i'll ever get 'tired of the debate' because it's about intellectualising. It becomes tiresome when people become offensive or too rigid and dogmatic. When i was a JW i didn't think that i could be proved wrong, FULL STOP. I have since proved MYSELF wrong. What we percieve and believe is according to what our brains and intellectual minds have thus far worked out and that could ALL be wrong. I don't want to serve the god of the bible, i think he's a barbarian god of backward minded trogladytes (ancient israel). I do though lean towards a superior force of some kind, but i'm no where near sure of it's nature. I am also currently leaning towards thinking that we 'chose' to come here to learn lessons we needed to learn. That is merely a diaphanous thought in my mind at the moment though. As long as it doesn't get too 'violent', then may the debate continue.

I hated that 'tidy up the CO's coming' bullsh*t. The PO always used to have his hair cut and wear his best suit all week and everyone used to get 'excited', anticipating a 'fine week of spiritual association'. I mean who was this guy supposed to be, Jesus in a suit??? I went through quite a few CO's in my time in the faith and although they came across as nice sometimes, there was always an undercurrent of superiority about them. They weren't 'down to earth' because they didn't live in the real world. Also, why did District Overseers have a better, more luxurious car than the CO's? The phrase 'rank and file' comes to mind. As for preposterous statements made by CO's.....don't get me started!!! Their dislike of kids rings a very strong bell with me though.

wondering everyone's best hypocrisy stories.. one of many for me is an elder who told me he doesn't think gambling is wrong and smoking the "odd" cigar is fine.
beauty!.
in a local cong.. any good stories?.
The PO who gave a talk about the evils of patriotism, warning against having anything to do with the St Georges cross (England Flag) because the soccer World Cup was fast approaching. Then his wife bought an England shirt (Flag Emblazoned on front) with his full knowledge.
My son was removed from microphone priveleges for kissing a girl.....no really JUST KISSING! Whilst another elders son, also a Reg Pioneer carried on doing the job even though he'd been ratted on for buying cigarettes and alcohol for minors. Loads more.
