Wow! You had Barbies???
My sister and I had a few Dawn Dolls with bendy-limbs and fab poly dresses, but Barbies were out of the question.
Too sexual. I mean they had boobies! *blush*
Brother Christopher had GI Joe men... and we learned nothing at all about male anatomy from them, either.
I did cut the internal rubber-band system inside a GI Joe when my bro took the head off one of my other fem-centric dolls.
Sibling retribution was complete.

Widespread speculation you'll never see in print?
by Mickey mouse injws are very good at whipping up speculation without ever putting a word in print.
maybe they learned something from 1975.. what are some of the things you remember hearing that are not "official doctrine" but lots of jws believe it anyway?.
i've heard a lot of speculation that armageddon would either happen on nisan 14 or in october around the time they reckon the gentile times ended in 1914.. name some of the topics you've frequently heard unsanctioned speculation about.. .

In the New System, Armageddon survivors and resurrected ones would all speak ancient Hebrew.
Supposedly because that's how Jehovah spoke to the chosen Israelites and there is some scripture about speaking in a "pure tongue."
What didn't figure into this speculation: Jehovah confused mankind with different languages at the Tower of Babel in the first place!

Do you have a "lab rat" friend in your life?
by Gregor inallow me to explain.. of course you are a normal person with warts and flaws.
but you have a person (s) in your life, through work, church, or some other limited environment with whom you have complete control of their "diet" of information when it comes to you.
to put it another way, they only know you from what you 'feed' them.

Yes, of course it is human nature but is it good to cultivate a confidant that only hears your side?
It is selfish, manipulative and sometimes abusive.
There are two sides to every story. Ask any cop, lawyer or judge. Is it really honest?
Of course not. Deception is at the very heart of the practice.
But that doesn't hinder the formation of easily-exploited "lab rat" groupies on Internet discussion boards.

Obama - Reincarnation of Pharoah Akhenaton?
2:34 PM / Posted by Andre Heath /
Are Barack and Michelle Obama the reincarnation of Pharoah Akhenaton and Queen Nefertiti of Ancient Egypt?
Reincarnation, literally means "to be made flesh again." It is a doctrine or metaphysical belief that some essential part of a living being (in some variations only human beings) survives death to be reborn in a new body. This essential part is often referred to as the spirit or soul, the "higher" or "true" self, "divine spark", or "I". According to such beliefs, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical world, but some part of the self remains constant throughout the successive lives.
Akhenaton, his royal name Amenhotep in English means Effective Spirit of Aten, first known as Amenhotep IV. He is especially noted for attempting to compel the Egyptian population in the monotheistic worship of Aten, although there are doubts as to how successful he was at this. He was born to Amenhotep III and his Chief Queen Tiye and was their younger son. Akhenaten was not originally designated as the successor to the throne until the untimely death of his older brother, the Crown Prince Thutmose.
Amenhotep IV succeeded his father after Amenhotep III's death at the end of his 38-year reign, possibly after a short coregency lasting between either 1 to 2 years. Suggested dates for Akhenaten's reign (subject to the debates surrounding Egyptian chronology) are from 1353 BC-1336 BC or 1351 BC–1334 BC. Akhenaton's chief wife was Nefertiti, made world-famous by the discovery of her exquisitely moulded and painted bust, now displayed in the Altes Museum of Berlin, and among the most recognised works of art surviving from the ancient world. After his death and the restoration of traditional religious practice, he and his immediate successors were ignored and excised from history by later rulers. Akhenaton himself is usually referred to as 'the enemy'.Amenhotep IV changed His name to Akhenaton after receiving a vision from Ra (Re) the Sun God. Akhenaton outlawed all Gods in the Kingdoms of Egypt except for Aten, The Sun Disk God. As Pharaoh, Akhenaten was the High Priest of Re (Ra). He also believed that he was the Son of God Re (Ra). Akhenaten was the "forefather" of Christianity and Judaism. These religions believe in One God (Deutoronomy 6:4).
There is a remarkable resemblance between the picture of Pharoah Akhenaton and President Obama. There is also the campaign logo of Obama, which symbolizes the rising (or setting) Sun. Akhenaton was not only the God King, but he was a representation in the flesh of Aten, the disc of the Sun.
The official explanation of the logo furthers the comparison to the Pharoah. The O represents Obama and he can use the logo without his name next to it. He’s claiming the O as George W. Bush claimed the W, the blue O and the red stripes represent the flag. The red stripes represent the plains, the American farmland. The O’s whitespace represents the sun, shining over the plains. Because it’s white, it evokes sunrise, not sunset. This indicates that a new morning sun (a hope, change) rising over America, and that Obama is it.

The "mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame" (nephililm in Gen 6:4) where the basis of Greek gods. Yes, the Greeks consulted Hebrew mythology to form their entire pantheon false gods and goddesses from this one scripture. Evidently, the Mayans, Chinese, Hindus, etc. did too.
That demons could implant bad thoughts into our brains, then hang around to see if we acted on them. (But don't worry, they can't actually read our thoughts.) Jehovah cruelly allowed this to sift and refine us.
They could also listen to our prayers, pinpoint our personal weaknesses and thwart whatever we prayed for. Jehovah was powerless to protect us from this meddling in our correspondence, and even tacking "in Jesus' name" on the end did nothing, either. Best to grovel silently.
Angels follow JWs around in field service to note how householders accept the message, or don't at all. They keep a list to be presented to Jehovah for final judgement. The brother who explained this made a flourish with his hands like he was scratching someone's name off a clipboard. I suppose this is how he deals with all the rejection at the doors, hiding-at-homes, and people who have real jobs and can't hang around the house all day waiting for him to knock.

Man sues over unwanted transfusion
By Daniel Tepfer
STAFF WRITER
Posted: 02/25/2009 11:24:41 AM EST
BRIDGEPORT -- A Jehovah's Witness being treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center was administered a blood transfusion despite his explicit request not to be given that procedure, which violates his religious beliefs.
Hospital officials admit that Andrew Geyer, 47, of Fairfield Avenue, was given a transfusion last year, and apologized.
Geyer is not placated, however, and filed suit against St. Vincent's, claiming he fears he may contract a blood-borne illness.
"St. Vincent's promptly apologized to Mr. Geyer and made immediate improvements to its procedures to prevent this from happening to anyone else," said Noreen McNicholas, director of marketing for the hospital. "There was a proper medical reason for the transfusion, but we acknowledge the patient should not have received it because of his beliefs. The blood supply is very safe, but we are confident that a patient's wishes concerning blood transfusions will be honored."
In the lawsuit Geyer filed in Superior Court, he said he has suffered extreme emotional and physical trauma as a result of the transfusion. In addition to the transfusion being a violation of his beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness, Geyer said he is concerned that he might contract a serious illness in the future as a result of the treatment, the lawsuit states.
"Mr. Geyer was admitted to the hospital for treatment of a foot injury and made the doctors and staff aware that he would not consent to a blood transfusion because it was against his religious beliefs," said Geyer's lawyer, Ikechukwu Umeugo, of West Haven. "But not only did they ignore his wishes, they gave him the transfusion after he had fallen asleep."
According to the lawsuit, Geyer was admitted to St. Vincent's last Aug. 27 for treatment of an infection in his left heel. After he was admitted, Geyer signed a document on which he stated he did not want to be treated with any blood products or blood transfusions. The following day, according to the suit, during a consultation with doctors, Geyer reiterated his refusal to have a transfusion, and a notation of his refusal was made in his hospital chart.
The suit states, however, that on Sept. 1 doctors and hospital staff gave Geyer a blood transfusion as he was sleeping.
"He woke up, saw what was going on and began crying nonstop," Umeugo said. "As a result, he has had to go see a psychologist at his own expense, and he lives in constant fear of blood-borne diseases."
Umeugo said he has consulted with two doctors who said the transfusion was not necessary. -

I've been following Mr. Barnett's harrowing tale for some time, and all I can say is,
More power to him! A true American patriot!
I applaud his efforts in doing what Homeland Security will not, to protect us law-abiding U.S. citizens and our republic from hostile, primitive and overtly Marxist 3rd world countries to our Southern borders.
(I realize the British on this board have a hard time comprehending the concept of land ownership in North America, and the rights that go with that, and I forgive them.)
