That movie was fantastic, I thought it was raw, real. Definitely moved me and hard to keep my eyes from moving from the screen, I think I blinked a little bit. Leiv Schriber was great too.

We were the "perfect" little JW family. Dad elder, mom pioneer, daughter pioneer (me). We were in a drama together, had parts at the CA and DA, we went to other KH's on Sundays when my dad was chosen to be the visiting speaker. We had the bookstudy at our house on Thurs for years. Everyone thought I would marry a nice strong brother at 18-19, and then go serve where the need was greater. Yeah right.
It was quite a shock when I went out in service all day with my mom pioneering on a Monday. That same evening, I had my car that day, I said "see you at home mom" (I was 18), and I never went home and I never told any of my close friends of my plans. I planned my escape fro 3 months.
I know it was a shock when my name was accounced that "Nikki is no longer a JW, and has been DFd from the congregation".

What's The Worst Thing You Know Of That A JW Did?

yet some jws are pretty notorious.. did you know of any jws that did some real bad things?.
i knew a pious witness who got caught twice trying to solicit prostitutes.

When I read your post at the end, got a little teary. I so appreicate that you are so close with your children. I got out when I was 18, that was 18 years ago, have not seen my dad since 1992, and my mom and I did not see each other from 92-2000, she is now DF'd but has a hard time with life mentally and our relationship has not been the best but I would rather have her in my life than not. I have 3 kids of my own and everyday I think about how great it is that they do not have to grow up that way (13,11, and 3) seriously every day I think about it. I appreciate the freedom so much.

Thought I'd take a Look
by spawn inhave just spent some time looking for old friends on facebook without much success, then i thought i'd see if any of the robots from my old cong were to be found.. i found 3 elders 4 ms and about 15-20 rank and file now is it me or did the gb say that fb was not to be used?.
have you found anyone you know to be going against the gb?.

I see alot of JWs on there but because I belong to some ex-jw groups on FB, they noticed them and deleted me since I am against "the most important thing in their lives, Jehovah and his work" eeeeeewwwwwwww, gave me the creeps when I got the message.

What "Bad" Food Do You Enjoy That You Know Is Bad For You?

the calories are terrible for a pie crusted chicken pie dinner but i love it.. and i love milk chocolate covered candy such as raisinettes or raspberry chocolate candies..

Breakfast - reduced turkey bacon breakfast sandwich from Starbucks, I am addicted.
Lunch - steak tacos from Tacos Elnorte with chips/salsa/guac, McDonalds french fries w/2 cheese burger meal plain, Olive Garden salad & breadsticks, and cream of chicken w/wild rice w/turkey sandwich on Ciabatta bread, lettuce/mayo/onions, and a Sunbay turkey 6" on wheat with everything (lite mayo tho, I dont like mayo ooozing out when I eat it) w/sun chips, and Jimmy John's Turkey Tom #4 no cheese w/kettle chips
Dinner - lite lite lite, salad or protein w/veggies - I keep lunch as my biggest meal
I try to eat healthy but I need to get some of the things I love once in awhile - I also love cucumber dill dip w/pretzals, yum.

JW kid who murdered both his parents back in 1990, raped his mom after he killed her. My step was the one that found them both. I went to highschool with him too, he lived a few blocks from me. That was the worst thing for me, very creepy.

I had my 1st FB deletion today. An old friend from 25 years ago messaged me and said, "it was great talking to you again, but she could no longer continue the friendship since I have turned away from Jehovah (she must have reviewed my profile, and saw that I do not do JW things) and that I am against the most important part of her life and that was serving Jehovah". She mentioned that she hopes I come out of my darkness soon.
This really effected my morning today I could not get it out of my mind. I already messaged her back and she came back with more JW lingo and said she would not go back and forth with me since we believe so differently.
Well, I dont need to run away from her, so I sent her another message, thought I would take the time to plant a seed, what do I got to lose? Its been 25 years, so what is another 25 years without her?
I still found that it effected me which really pissed me off, have not had to deal with the shunning thing for years now...ya know?

What year Did you Stop Attending Meetings - How Long were you a JW ?
by flipper ini'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.
and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.
so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

I actually wathed it early this am since I recorded it last night, I thought the same thing, "she is really good", and I thought her look was different too...then I was surprised about the Michael Jackson thing too...
