  August KM Fall Out

  i'm curious to know if anyone has noticed different behavior from their dub family and friends since the aug. km about disfellowshipped ones.

  i've noticed that my mother is no longer emailing me, nor is she responding to my emails.

  i really wish that she would just come out directly and state that she will no longer talk to me instead of just ignoring everything, thinking i will go away.

  No private information concerning this has been given to the elders that I know of.

  I seriously doubt that family members of a disfellowshipped person could be dealt with by a judicial committee for fraternizing, just as long as they didn't flaunt it. It would get very sticky, for example: family members accused of associating with the disfellowshipped one could say, "Our disfellowshipped family member was undergoing mental difficulties and was under duress-these were extenuating circumstances." You see an immediate family member has a Biblical responsibility to look after his parents, children, aged parents, grown children, brothers, sisters, etc. It seems to me that any elder who would try to do anything about this would run up against a picket fence.

  This is mostly sabre rattling. You have to stay a step ahead of these guys

  Now you've got me laughing!

  Anyway as I recall that infamous Generation article spoke about how the time of the Napoleonic Age could be spoken of as a Generation. So I guess according to them they could apply that explanation to the age of the Pharoahs which lasted for several thousand years! All of this explaining when the fact is that a generation is decribed as, "A single succession in natural descent." In other words A PERSON'S LIFETIME---PERIOD!!

  So back in "95 I inquired and asked, "So a generation is an era right?" I was sternly counseled not to use the term Era because the Society wasn't using that term. Well, I'm sorry to say that I had the dubious honor of teaching this Generation stuff to the congregation from the platform. After I was done I told my wife that I felt like I had just baffled everybody with bull-shit!

  picture the scene:.

  you are a young single brother with no other jw family members.

  you manage to tot up 90hrs a month in "field service";spend five hours per week preparing your watchtower for the study, however you are not an extremely extrovert person and don't try to "impress" the elders and the co. it seems though that this "spiritual" person never seems to be appointed as a ms or an excesively long time passes by before he does become such.

  Within the organization the entire way a male is viewed is based upon what tiltle he has, there is an intricate system of, "Class Distinctions. How contrary to what Paul said about if anyone wants to be an overseer he is desirous of a fine work. He never said you had to have a position in the cong. to have respect. I believe that the present system wreaks of cliques and corrupt politics.

  They are their own achilles heel. Whenever they feel threatened or even questioned on a stand they've taken, they become more and more radical and appear more and more ridiculous to increasing numbers of publishers. Take for example the Disfellowshipping policy, its been questioned alot on this forum and in the private conversations of many elders. So what do they do? They make the policies even more extreme. The problem is that the Society is at present a corrupt arrogant political heirarchy guilty of things like: *Going beyond the things written *Extorting money *Violating political neutrality as in the case of the U.N. scandal *Slandering and defaming innocent people *Bloodguilt *Lying (just to mention a few.)

  Therefore who are they to make rules about Disfellowshipping more strict? Who are they to Disfellowship anyone? Now I've been a witness for many years and if all of this is obvious to me it's certainly becoming apparent to others.

  Recently changes have been made as to the Blood Issue and Child Abuse. These have been changes they've been forced to make due to problems. Its like the tail is wagging the dog.

  Much of the criticism that the society is now taking isn't, "Persecution for Righteousness Sake" its deserved. What's bothersome to me is that they just can't seem to own up to it when they make a mistake, its always someone else's fault-never their's.

  The message to the publishers is not, "Know the scriptures and handle the Word of God aright," it is, "Listen to the Faithful & Discreet Slave no matter what, put it into automatic and let us think for you."

  based on an earlier comment by you, i wanted to just say thank you.. we have benfitted by your sleuthlike abilities to expose some who have attempted to disrupt the site as well.. i am glad to see that you didn't leave the board as you had considered at one time.

  Your posts are well thought out and very insightful. I was just recalling the post you made concerning trying to organize get togethers for young people and why those efforts failed due to the host getting blamed for any misconduct that might take place. You brought out that because of these policies our young people just don't get together and are socially inept, any adult JW has to be very afraid of organizing even a roller-skating party! I admired your efforts.

  in view of the fact that bill bowen and others who have supported the silentlambs agenda have been disfellowshipped, do you think this means the end of their effectiveness?

  comments on the board suggest that now, jw's won't come forward to bill because witnesses won't want to talk to a disfellowshipped person.

  and some have said that this was the reason why they were fighting their disfellowshipping.

  A problem is that very many bogus disfellowshippings have taken place. When the Society's policies on this issue are called into question what do they do? They swing even farther to the radical right making their policy on this matter appear even more ridiculous.

  so why would you want to listen to degenerates like that?.

  This called some interesting thoughts to mind: Were the French Resistance cowards because they hid their identities from the Nazis? In my opinion they were heros. In the South American jungle is a jaguar cowardly for working around army ants or for not swimming with piranha fish? A jaguar is a courageous animal that just avoids foolish circumstances.

  Instead is a coward not one who uses numbers and circumstances to shut out others and lord it over them and to be intolerant of other's opinions?

  By this definition would not every Jehovah's Witness who's ever done the preaching work underground so as to avoid persecution be a coward for not openly revealing his identity?
