I hope I am not hijacking this thread, if I am, please tell me and I will start another, but it's kinda on the subject. Did the Angels who materialized as human all materialize as males? If so why?

Were the Nephilim sterile? Did they have offspring?
by AuldSoul in*** it-2 p. 492 nephilim *** .
increased wickedness.
the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame that were produced by these marriages, were not men of fame with god, for they did not survive the flood, as did noah and his family.

My personal favorite is the part where the Israelites have been living off Manna for so long they are sick of it and they start clammoring for meat. They apparently clammor so much (in much the same manner as Jesus later said to pray, i.e. incessently) that Joe Hober gets pissed and say, "Oh, so you want meat do ya? Wello, fine then, I'm gonna give yo so much meat it comes out your nose!" And the next thing they know, they're chest deep in Quail. What a riot!

GIR,
"11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. "
Kuh-rap! That's like a loan shark telling you he's gonna show you mercy " 'cuz I'm only goona break one of your knees."
It doesn't matter when JOB lived (although he does make some righteous rolling papers), whether he was an Amalikite or a Troglydite, of whether is was pre-post Exodus. The book is a piece of literature, and a damn good one at that. The problem has occurred because of its cannonization and the subsequent empty headed dorks who insist upon having to be literal.
"And whoever wrote Job created a lot of dangerous misconceptions about the way God operates and this book should have been among the non canonical apocrypha." Greendawn is absolutely correct. It is often amusing and telling to listen to the gyrations and flop flipping that people go thru attempting to explain, justify and, ultimately, apologize for the book JOB.
From the reasoning of those who point to Job being tested as proof the debbil is wrong, that man CAN keep his "integrity", and that if we wait long enough we'll all get a Hollywood ending ,that would mean that the Romans view of religion was the most correct. The Romans, inheriting (stealing?) from the Greeks, believed that we humans were just toys for the Gods to dick around with, i.e. we are here for their amusmnet. And, as such, we have no real "free will" except in only narrow, predetermined and prescribe ways.
Here's some questions if JOB is to be taken literally: was Job the first case, or were there a string of failures before him? If Job proved "faithful" (where perfect Adam didn't) then what f*ck is the point of all of the rest of history since then? Why would "God" be such a dickhead as to make a race of people from Abram (who was apparently as wealthy as Job, but with not near the heartaches) when Job seemed certainly to have more qualifications in the "faith" and "integrity" depts?
Who is Job? We are.

I just got hold of the WTS Aust branch 2005 Financial Report
by jwfacts inas mentioned in another thread, the watchtower bible & tract society of australia is refusing to give me my personal records, though i believe they are supposed to under the aust privacy act.
they claim to not be under the legislation, which exempts businesses with less than 3 million turnover.
anyway, i purchased their financial report that is lodged with asic to find out what the turnover is ($16million).

jwfacts,
If you truely have what you say that you have, you had best be careful. I'm not sure how many USA papers would love to get ahold of what you have, but I can only imagine what the NYT would do with that. The extrapolation to US interests is easy. Remember, at least in the good ol' US of A, every tax-free dollar is worth about 3 in the real world. You do the math. What you have is the WTS (or any "modern" religion, for that matter) by the "short hairs". If the R&F were to "discover" those figures there would be a moment of elation as they thought how much "Jehovah had blessed them" and then the truth would begin to set in. The "charities" are so low because that is information that is easily attainable in the states (and, apparently, Canada) but the rest of it is so telling. Would Judas had sold out for 30 shitty pieces of silver if he had been part of the WTS?

There actually is ONE thing I can thank the WTS for.............
by Frannie Banannie ini finally figured out that there is one thing i can thank them for.
you see, because they are so rigid, dogmatic and unmerciful in their teachings, doctrines and practices, when i finally realized they are wrong, it made me begin to examine the alleged holy scriptures authored by religious leaders from the past and to finally see that it's all man-made.
when i believed strongly in bible writings, my view of reality was skewed effectively as a consequence.

Barf Quote
by cosmic ini read a thread recently by stillawitness in which this person mentioned a "barf quote".
the term didn't seem extraordinary at the outset, but, throughout the day, i kept giggling and chortling over the term.
people would ask me what was "so funny", and all i could say was, "barf quote".

Is that an recognized, bonafide, certified description of WTS Drivel? If not, it should be.

Lady Lib,
Does your arm get tired holding that thing up in the air? Now you know why psychologists reccommend group therapy. What's really cool is when you say something "controversial" and everybody jumps your shite for it. And you get to come right back, and...nothing happens. Wow, these people are all here to learn too! Could the original disciples have been any different?
