Not really therefore the reason for so many interpretations and religions and cultures I believe it all boils down to two individuals being faithful to one another. Multiple partners will always cause some strife somewhere especially where children are involved.

Can someone explain the Bibles inconsistent stance on SEX
by jwfacts ini am trying to define what is acceptable sexual practice and find that using the bible as a guide is quite confusing and contradictory.
looking at the history of sexual encounters in the bible seems to indicate that multiple sex partners is acceptable, provided you can afford it, yes even in sex the rich have a different set of rules to the poor.
however adultery seems to consistently be thought of as wrong.. adam and eve - no rule is given, just that a man should stick with his wife.

When one is angry and I believe there are different levels of anger, one can not always rationally look at the cause of the anger until they distance themself from the source of it and then see what caused it and then avoid it. This is not alway true either because of deep emotions and bonds of a lifetime are involved, as well as beliefs held to be true and finding out they are not can cause a real sence of loss and abandonment. And can then cause the cycle of anger to be repeated and bitterness which can affect the way we respond to others and make one ultrasensitive.

District Assembly Games
by *jeremiah* ini left the jw's when i was 17, so most of these games were played during teenage years.. here are some things i remember doing with my friends during the assembly:.
1. the last clap.
after a brothers talk or when "new light" emerged and the entire stadium would erupt with clapping we would see if one of us could be the very last person in the entire stadium to clap.. 2. the laugh game.

Our games were to volunteer so you wouldn't have to listen In 1961 at the Candlestick park International assy in SF CA I worked in the cafeteria. a big tent peeling potatoes To this day I don't peel potatoes!! lmao I must have peeled a couple of tons of those things. lol Later I learned to work in other departments. When I became a nurse I worked in first aid never really learned much at those assemblies. I enjoyed the association though

A Religion of Assumptions
by Cold Steel inthe jehovah's witnesses are a strange cultural phenomenon and one that has always puzzled me.
members call it "the truth" and, more boldly, "jehovah's organization.
" but many of those on the outside remain dumbfounded.

In my opinion as with any religion people are looking for hope in a nasty world. Some religions are more fundamental than others. As for jw's their basis is the watchtower not the bible.
btw WELCOME TO THE BOARD

Yes I met several N. H. Knorr seemed like a kind old guy. Fred Franz seemed distant. Ted Jaracz very authoritarian and intimidating. Milton G. Henschel aloof and assuming. None seemed like real people to me. I was a young teenager when I met these guys. a couple of them had dinner at our home and I thought we were entertaining saints at the time God I wish I knew then what I know now.

I'm meeting with the elders this Saturday
by Honesty inthat's right, guys and girls, i'm going to meet with at least two elders this saturday.. before you get ya britches in a big 'ol wad i can explain everything.. it's like this... well, a good friend asked me yesterday if i would be willing to meet with some jw's who have been having a 'bible study' with him for 5 or 6 weeks.
it appears that these jw's are elders and they have informed him that he is not a christian.
he asked them if they would be willing to discuss their beliefs with anyone and everyone so that he could be sure what they are telling him about not being a christian is true.

I couldn't agree more with Drew as the jw's will only accept what has been written by the wts and disregard anything else.
