Would you trust this guy to build an Ark?
by moshe ini found this picture of otzi the iceman , whose mummy was found in the alps in 1991. he died about 5300 years ago.
that would make him a close contemporary of noah.
using only flint and copper tools , do you think this ancient man and his family could have built the biblical ark?

Who does your Favorite rendition of 'White Christmas'?
by AK - Jeff ini am smitten with christmas music now.
i love it - after 40 years of cringing at the sound of the season.. i just made a cd with about 20 different renditions of white christmas.
i am currently listening to the 'three tenors' version.

I am with full of doubt now Bing Crosby but I must say Nat King Cole can make a grown man cry with his voice of Chestnuts roasting on an open fire I also like the one his daughter just put out voicing with some of his original sound tracks.

I will go out on a limb here. I believe these people to be dangerous fanatics and soon I believe there will be a lot of chaos and some countries will eventually ban their religion and forbid entrance to their countries.

Do you think anything will really change?
by hambeak inwith the elections in the usa tues. 11/07/2006 if the dems win the house and maybe less control in the senate and maybe even a few new governors, do you think us policy might shift?
it seems there is some shifting because of the fear in the republican controlled house and senate that they will be replaced by a more liberal and younger bunch.
i hope so.

Nope same old 7 and 6. I think some are more greedy and power hungry than others.

With the elections in the USA Tues. 11/07/2006 if the Dems win the house and maybe less control in the Senate and maybe even a few new governors, Do you think US policy might shift? It seems there is some shifting because of the fear in the Republican controlled house and Senate that they will be replaced by a more liberal and younger bunch. I hope so. This economy is terrible and the war is unjust and costly. Prices for fuel high and the scandals I think people are tired and ready for a change. I am interested in your opinions.
Thanks Hammy

Called for Jury Duty
by frankiespeakin ini'm what you would call a unpatriotic, and a free thinker who doesn't agree with the judicial system in california.
i've been called for jd about six or more times and every time they never use me because i make it very plain that i don't and won't play be thier rules when it comes to jd.
usually i'm the first one the prosecutor dismisses because of my free thinking unpatriotic point of views that i make known as soon as i can.. i think our prisons are over crowded because of the states eagerness to inprision people, for things that i can never agree with.

I served on a jury in a felony case in Santa Rosa CA. it was interesting but boring. True it is totally inconvenient but that is the price of citizenship. just my 2cents

Abuse of elder position and platform
by KAYTEE inthe craziest statement (not lies not incorrect application of scripture) just total abuse of elder position and misuse of platform.
an elder when on the platform(or as some might say the stage after all the majority are actors made a statement to the congregation because his wife was a bit sickly asked the bro/sisters to arrange a rota to make his dinners.my thinking was if he can't feed himself how can he feed the flock.visiting brothers could not beleive what they heard they thought he was joking.. i can asure you this elder wasn't noted for his humour.. kt.

Come on now folks, I agree it was tacky for him to ask this it should have been done by someone else. A couple of questions is he and his wife elderly? Is he somewhat physically disabled? I think just human kindness goes a long way no matter who they are.

The Tribal Nature of Jehovah's Witnesses
by unclebruce init seems to me a common misconception amongst ex- jehovahs witnesses is that there will one day be an issue arises so big that it will pull the rug from under the watchtower bible and tract society bringing the whole edifice crumbling down.
revelations come and go, apostates jump from one hope to another.
expose after expose fail to cause more than a ripple on the tranquil jw pond.

Come to think of it is really quite tribal and primitive at that

I'm sure it is high as someone previously stated you really aren't allowed to date and you get married way too young.
