I would love to hear from anyone who grew up in the truth and is gay
by Ragnarökkr inhi.. after lurking for a number of months i have decided to join in and hopefully connect with a few people who will know what it has been like to grow up as me.
i left the truth a number of years ago for two reasons, one of which was my sexuality, which i knew to be unacceptable to my brothers and sisters.
since then i have alone in my isolation, hopefully through this site i can rectify that.

Welcome to the Board I was raised as a Jw and knew I was gay I tried praying to god to change me didn't work I am not a part of the gay scene nor am I stereotypical I have been with my partner now for 20+ years If you want to chat pm me and I will give you my e mail address
I do know and understand completely the isolation and the fear and the guilt one goes thru just remember you didn't choose your lifestyle you were born that way and it is totally natural

Jeff I agree with you I was reviewing that part of the book again today and that is what prompted this topic. I think also maybe because of the level of responsibility that Ray and Rene had the GB was fearful of losing their almighty power.

It never ceases to amaze me how these fellows think they can do this and cause so much hurt and harm. I think at one time maybe the org had some truths and now they have deviated from truth and are losing the rank and file and would like us to shut up. Truth is a constant and never changes. at least that is my opinion

Funny, people believed in Jehovah long before there was any Watchtower society or governing body interpreting scripture. Sorry to hear about your mom and the people from her hall that didn't visit. Unless she is part of a unique clicke in the hall don't ever expect anything from them they are to busy trying to get converts. As for your brother consider the source and pity him, because one day he will wake up and maybe be quite angry about the phony front the org puts on as there is no real love shown amongst them
