I am sad to say I use the F word. What I think is odd is when I am selling a job or speaking to certain people that word is never uttered. Almost as if it doesn't exist. But as soon as I turn to talk to an employee, friend, even my wife, there it is. I can't be the only one. Anyone else experience this phenomena. S.

Has your brain been re-wired with the "F" word?
by Gregor ini learned an interesting fact from my father's doctor when he was being treated for a stroke.
mom had mentioned that even though dad couldn't speak well enough to ask for a glass of water he could clearly say, "goddammit".
the dr. explained that epithets are from a different part of the brain and this area had not been affected by the stroke.. i found this very interesting.

Gun control logic

My wife and I recently applied for our concealed permits. On many nights she closes her store alone, in industrial part of the city. One night she noticed a suspicious car in the parking lot. She called the police , they responded 15 min. after the car left. The police left noting the make and model. She called me while she was locking up about 25 min. later. As she is talking to me and walking to her truck, the car shows up and drives to the back of the parking lot backs in. She gets into her truck and as she is leaving the parking lot the person pulls out behind her and follows her to the freeway, doesn't follow her any farther. That night one of the cars in the lot near where they had backed in had the wheels stolen.
She had not carried her gun that night. A lot can happen in the time the call to the police is made and when they show. I don't think she was a target. I think they where casing the place. She now caries regularly and leaves with at least one other person. Nothing may ever happen. We hope it doesn't. But things like what happened at V.T. and then N.A.S.A. do happen. AND IT"S NOT THE FAULT OF THE GUN!!!!
There are two things that I say when gun control becomes an "issue"
1. "An armed society is a polite society."
2. This is a modified version of the pro-abortion bumper sticker. "Don't want a GUN, Don't buy one!"

The cold weather. The change of colors. Football? World Series? Basketball starts? What do we love about this. My absolute favorite part of the year. I get to look forward to vaction time. Seeing my family in the southern part of the state. Cooking stews,risotto,chicken and dumplings. S.

JeffT, She was contracted. What she is holding is the past records of excise tax, cust. data,data entry stuff. I also want to say I did become friends with her. We have had dinner with her and her husband in the past. All along she has told me that this was only to help me get my business going and she has wanted to work less,sort of semi-retire. Which I thought I would be helping her do. I am thinking she really doesn't want to semi-retire. But why would she tell me this multiple times? S.

L2, I think your right about the perk work. I am going to pay her because I think it will easier than trying to fight it. Nathan, She is self employed and I just found out that I am not the only one who was having problems. I like the phrasing of your last line. That nailed it(pun intended). S.

Almost like on 'Seinfeld' when Georges break up didn't take. Now I received an outrages bill for prior work and she is hold some records like ransome. She is valadating any questions I had of letting her go. I thought it would be tough, but it is just weird now. Does this sound familiar to anybody? By the way, if anyone is wondering, I am happily married and NOTHING romantic ever transpired between us. S.

Biker, Thank you for moving that stuff over. Congratulations on your nups. I put the ""on the wedding I went to because it is such a farce. I shouldn't have implied all Vegas weddings are a joke. When I say Vegas I mean that 5-6 radius around the strip. The outter areas are some of the most visually(sp) stunning things I've seen. But it's the crazy hipe and how it is being sold too us that makes me question what is the real draw. That the tourism board came up with "What happens here stays here." as a way to attract people is nuts. To me it implies that there are no rules are you don't have to act like a responsable adult/person. Am I reading this wrong? Just curious. I hope I don't sound like an old fart.S.
