Why you CAN'T make sense of it.

going through an dealing with a mentally ill spouse (living hell, long story, pm me if you want details), and talking to others who have dealt with the mentally ill, i've come to an epiphany.. you cannot make sense of "crazy".

that's why, when you get out of the wt, get out of the mind control, and try to reason with your loved ones or friends, it will not work.

we are dealing with people under mind control and i believe that is a close cousin of mental illness.

This is SO true OSTS:

When someone is mentally ill......they simply cannot reason in a normal fashion. It isn't even a lack of willpower or desire. They just cannot do it.

Trying to make sense of it is not possible either, I tried for some time and lets just say it was totally not productive. So I just have to walk away from it at this point and leave it to the professionals.

Along those lines, I wish there was more visibility for the need of counseling those leaving cults and high control groups.

My situation isn't really cult related, but the lack of those boundaries that they do setup accelerated the crazy train in this instance. Sometimes mentally ill people thrive having a higher thing to answer to and conform to rules. But it doesn't always stop them from acting out or going completely off the reservation.

You CANNOT make sense of "crazy". That's why, when you get out of the WT, get out of the mind control, and try to REASON with your loved ones or friends, it WILL NOT WORK. We are dealing with people under mind control and I believe that is a close cousin of mental illness. Cognitive dissonance, years of creating two personalities for self preservation, hiding your true self, it really creates serious psychological problems.

We bust out heads wondering WHY these people can't see the truth. We almost go crazy ourselves wondering why any seemingly SANE person can't see "the truth about the truth". I beleive there's a strong connectiong between mind control and being mentall ill. Any thoughts?

I finally told my parents

so as some of you already may know, i have stopped going to meetings for good and have nothing to do with wbts anymore...did not write a letter of disassociation because i dont believe an organization should spiritually execute me for rejecting men's tradition and false doctrine...some of you may recall i spoke to my wife and are in good terms, even though she's still an active jw.

my parents are both active jw's...when i visited them yesterday, they clearly did not expect me to tell them i had left the "org"...to my huge surprise, after i explained to them i had found ttatt (truth about the truth) and gave compelling evidence of my reasoning, and using the scriptures, they totally sided with me...i was dumbfounded...one of my parents even brought up ray franz and his book coc....i was like wtf??.

they told me all of these years they never had the guts to say anything about the hypocrisy in this org and they were glad that i as their son was able to step up and believe what is right and what is on the bible...they re-assured their love to me and they were happy i had found happiness in jesus christ and the need to have a personal relationship with him and not through a man made organization.... i totally did not expect this response from my parents...but it just leaves me to think that there are thousands of active jw's out there feeling the same way and don't have the courage to step up to the org...still don't know what they are going to do, but i got the feeling they will do the same eventually and move on from the wbts.... have a great week everyone.

has anyone heard anything about this??

the change that is emerging is this: the great crowd has not yet appeared, and it is a group that comes out of the great tribulation.

there's a study article "make sure of the more important things", and in no uncertain terms the article makes clear that "jehovah's organization" is the most important thing.

the term "organization" or "jehovah's organization" is used a whopping 24 times in the article, including a subheading titled: "follow the example of jehovah's organization".

i thought organizations were entities, but that sort of subheading makes it seem like the organization is one giant person whose example we can follow.

yes, i was going to them, and i was foolish to think i could never get caught.

i have been visiting them for some years, not a daily problems, but occasionaly every month or so - still a problem wethere its once or a hundred times.

JWs exposed in Norway

during the past week, 17 different articles on various practices of jws and comments to those, have been published on the web page of the norwegian equivalent of the bbc, nrk: http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/norge/1.8397366.

in addition to this a special news programme with a discussion on sexual abuse and jw was broadcast on nrk2, and p1 contained an interview with an ex-jw on its weekly news summary programme.. it seems the expose is continuing..

wtf is the wt doing to the minds of the brethren???.

this morning i went to the post office at 7:50am to pick up a package.

turns out the mail box section was open at 8am but the actual post office didn't open until 8:30am... rather than drive home and come back later i decided to get out my car and wait on a nearby park bench.
