  from an email i received of a conversation had with people from patterson:.

  it seems that the wts legal dept.

  has been working with the fb [facebook] legal dept for about a year and also with youtube whoever they are, to enforce transparency.

  Facebook has been working on "real names" for some time now, it has nada to do with an insigificant peon religious group.

  Perhaps we ARE reaching a tipping point and the sheer numbers of exjws joining recovery groups and forums has them worried. But I think this is more "the borg is SO smart" bullshit.

  Will JW.ORG actually harm the WT Society Long Term ?

  my son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.

  since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.

  i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?

  ok, if you have been reading news reports, they are saying it will take years to defeat isis.

  maybe somebody can explain to me how that is so after considering what i've been led to believe are the facts.

  1 - still think it's the truth ...came to this site cause danger is your middle name.. 2 - concerned, smoething's amiss but still believe.

  3 - 98% sure it's bs, but still go for / with family.

  4 - anger / denial, inactive with minimal attendance (ie memorial, spec talk etc).

  it seems that i might not be the only nerd here that's interested in statistics like this so maybe it deserves it's own topic.. so i was playing around with google.com/trends with some jw related search terms.

  i found the results a bit surprising, and certainly interesting, so i figured i'd share.. first off, the link to what i tried.. one of the most surprising things that stood out was the regional interest.

  Also, once the newness wears off people will be back to the regular drudgery. Remember all the excitement over tract campaigns? Now they are a dime a dozen.
