  Do you hate to travel?

  after looking at one of the topics on here about which jw event you disliked the most, it got me to thinking.

  i think that because of assemblies and conventions, i still hate to travel.

  as a kid just about the only time i ever went anywhere, it was to go to an assembly or convention.

  I love to travel, i go on vacation once a year, i prefer flying because it gets me there faster!!

  Will many prayers work better than just one prayer?

  did you honestly believe that praying for someone else or someone praying for you would have a better chance of working than just the person praying alone for himself?.

  gee, why would god need many people to pray for one person?

  isn't one prayer honest enough?

  I believe that any God prefers that those who pray ask for things for other people instead for themselves!! No one likes a selfish person!!

  im in love with a Jehovah's Witness

  i've fallen in love with a jehovah's witness and i know she feels the same way about me but the problem is that im a methodist and cant find it in me to give up my faith and become a jehovah's witness as i would not expect her to give up her faith and it is driving us both crazy.

  i've known this lovely lady for the past 8 years and have only now told her how i feel and every second im away from her im thinking of her wanting to be with her.

  so im asking people who might know or be able to help

  Michael and i will never marry or even live together because of his exwife and his adult daughters!! If they find out we made up they will shun him and he just can't take it, he doesn't have the emotional strenght to handle it w/o having a nervous breakdown which he had when his x divorced him!! Living a lie comes easy to him!! Of the many things he told me about himself over the past seven years i have learned a few things about what is going on in his head!! Sex is the most important thing to him, i think he uses that as a replacement for the love and affection he never received from his mother!!

  He is the oldest of three brothers and was always made to lookout for them and give up things for them as if he were the parent!! I do know that most if not all kids who are the oldest resent this job being forced on them by their parent/parents!! My mom did this to my sister who was the oldest and it still bothers her today that she lost some of her childhood looking out for us while mom was at work 5-6 days a week!!

  Of all the mistakes i have made in my life this one with Michael is the worst and i am trying to get past this hold he has on me!!

  Good Friend is dying

  my mom just called to tell me that a good friend of mine when i was in the "lie" is dying of colon cancer.. he asked my mom to talk to me about going to see him in the hospital before he goes into hospice.

  even though i have been faded for over 10 years, when my mom spoke to me i could only remember the good times we had as friends when we were kids, so it was a no brainer for me, i am going to see him this afternoon.

  i also asked my mom to get the phone number of another childhood friend who grew up with us that is dfed.

  Dealing with my mother

  my mom knows that i really don't believe that the jw's have the 'truth' and she is always telling me to just give it more time and i'll snap out of it.

  she thinks i'm going through a stage right now and i'll 'grow out of it' and eventually i'll want to return to the religion.

  i try to reasure her that such hopes are futile, but often my conversations go like this:.

  I thought this topic was interesting even tho my mother is no longer with us!! My mom became a JW about 30 years ago along with her husband at that time, (3rd one)!! After becoming a JW she said she could no longer have a relationship with me unlest i converted! Naturally, i freaked, she also spoke about my not sending her birthday, christmas, etc cards because if i did she would just throw them away!! My mom said all kinds of weird things her church expects of her so we argued about it just like we always did about everything!! I still love my mom and i never held her being a JW against her!

  Why is it that some JW's obey all the rules and some only obey a few and have the nerve to call themselves good JW's!! My boyfriend accepts cards for all holidays and gifts, he uses the "F" word, drinks and is having sex outside of marriage!! I don't know how a person can live with themselves and look in the mirror w/o feeling shame!!

  Disfellowshipped and lonely

  i was disfellowshipped in 2003. systematically my family stopped talking to me.

  i am only 22 years old and i feel a big void in my life.
