The old guy on top is Fred Franz about 1~2 years before he died. The guy on the bottom is george gangas before he died, also a governing body member. They were a bit cranky when I knew them and very dogmatic, their way or the highway type.

YOU "THINK" YOU KNOW.....BUT...YOU DON'T KNOW!!
by Terry inthe door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.
in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.
but, it is a diversion.

Interesting theory terry but I have to agree with hillary. I don't see the GB personally benefitting from the monies except in extending their fanatical reach to all parts of the globe. I truly believe they are bit misguided and victums of their own belief system. I have pictures of fred franz and ganges when they were alive, they weren't exactly living in opulence in bethel.

Hey Golf,
So you're a tradesman as well. I worked with a few ironworkers and I have to say you guys are nuts but I had a lot of fun. Since I finally left the Borg, things have been going very well, thanks to all the support from this discussion forum. It has helped me get past the mind control and guilt and to move on to more positive things.
I'm back in school and loving it. I'm reading a lot more, meeting more people, and really developing greater skill sets. It's funny but I find that I'm smiling and laughing more. One day, I would like to write a book but not right now. What's on the agenda now is traveling more, getting better at salsa dancing, doing things I never done before such as water skiing, scuba diving, ski diving, and maybe a bungy jump or two. I also want to join Home for Habitat this summer, it should be a lot of fun. Life is really what you make it and I like going to sleep exhausted from working hard (secularly and personally) everyday.
There are challenges that I face such as the level of work required to make friends (I make it a point to call all my friends at least once a week), getting over the programmed fear of being with 'worldly people', my own personal insecurities and so on but as you mentions, 'Combating negativity is a challenge and we need to confront that challenge. The more we tackle it, the more we will find relief and a purpose to be positive, mind you, it will be gradual, but it's worth the challenge. This is sound psychological advice. When we conquer fears, it inoculates us from more fears and increases self esteem.

Article on Origins of Xristianity I Wrote REALLY UPSET Local Christians
by Seeker4 ini had an assignment to write a bunch of holiday articles that would be shared by all the various papers owned by the guy who owns the paper i'm the editor of.
after i'd had enough with the usual holiday stuff, i decided to get a little adventerous and expanded one in the series to include, not just the origins of christmas foods, but also some ideas i've been reading and watching about the origins of the chrisitain religion itself.. this is a link to the article, which ran a few weeks ago: .

Why do apostates lie about where they get their information?
by slimboyfat init does no good.
i don't understant it - who do they think they're foolin'?.
i have just been listening to the judicual committee that disfellowshipped rick and laverne townsend and it is cringeworthy, to say the least, to listen to them cover-up, distort and outright lie about the sources of their information and the real background to their dissent.
