GG/BG & OFG Sitting in a Tree.....
by OpenFireGlass inwhere the hell have i been?
ummmmmmmm... i've been in love!.
it's been so long i don't even know where to begin...... well... i guess it all began here at jwd... the beauty of it all, it that this is not a dating website, and the very fact that i was falling in love with a person whom i had no idea of her physical appearance... i was falling for her inner beauty and strenght to leave everything she knew to be happy, to live life.... i had finally met a person who understood me, and i could relate to her stories.... i had met my new best friend, but didn't know it yet... things progressed..... we emailed (which later led to unsolicited photos from her).... then exchanged phone numbers, etc..... then before i know it she had convinced me to purchace an airplaine ticket to meet her.

Do you tend to think that many things "go without saying"? I do...
by Paisley inafter an eye-opening conversation with an old acquaintance yesterday, someone i don't know well but thought i had some clue about .
we've all heard it said "i'm not a mind reader you know, speak up!
i didn't know you felt that way.

Definitely inconsiderate. My Dad was a little bit like that, he would talk and talk while we waited in the parking lot (Mom was not one to enjoy visiting after) and she would have to go back in a couple times and remind him we were waiting.
My husband was never a dub, but he has to be told everything. He cannot pick up on irritation or impatience at all. i could definitely see him doing something like that and if I didn't say something it would go on and on. Luckily, I don't keep quiet in those kinds ofsituations. I would jump in the drivers seat and say I'll be back to pick you up after lunch buddy.

JWs and tatoos
by Phil ini noticed while watching the aussie tennis open that serina williams has a tatoo on her back that shows a little when her dress top shifts a little after some intense play.
what does the wt think of tattoos particularly on women jws.
i noticed she still does that "jehovah" thing in her finishing speach, that tells me that she is still in the org.

I remember many a talks with warnings against tatoos. It was very much frowned upon. I got one anyway. Than I got another one. And another.

Is it normal to love a spouse more than your child(ren)?
by unbeliever ini was watching this show in passing and they had a woman on there that said she loved her husband more than her children.
she said by putting her husband first it made her marriage stronger and happier and therefore it made her a better mother.. i did a double take when i heard that.
i don't think it is normal to love a spouse more than your child.

how people always have to define something when it wasn't needed to begin with. The love between a child and a spouse should be two completely different things that one shouldn't need to quantify.
I agree that it is a different kind of love for each. But I would have to say, my love for my children is definitely more intense. Maybe that changes as they get older and are less and less dependent on you, I don't know. But at this point, they would win out. Plus they are alot cuter than my husband :)

I used to work in a department cosmetics counter, and there was this horrible elders wife that worked at a diferent counter. And man did she ever keep an eye on me. She was on my case constantly about any peircings I had, what I wore to work etc. One time, our dept. manager threw a party around Christma time. I decided to go, an had a fabulous time. The next day this biatch cornered me in the stock room and told me I was embarrassing all the JW that worked in the store and putting them in a bad spot. She said I was headed down the worng path, etc. I was so mad I marched right up to HR and told them I felt very uncomfortable being cornered and felt religion should not be part of the workplace yada yada. They agreed, she got called up to the officem and she never spoke to me again. She was later fired for stealing.

Dilemma.. please help
by DeusMauzzim infirst of all thanks for the reactions to my first post.
very kind of you.. i've been struggling with the following question the last few months.
'they' are absolutely sure they have chosen their own beliefs, have researched it themselves, are thinking for themselves, and that the organization is just the whole lot of people like them.

I agree with Vivamus. They have to want to know, otherwise you will just reinforce their resolve to stay. Don't lose hope though, I know quite a few that were very oppossed to hearing the real truth, and are now completely out.

Do You Still ............ ?
by Outaservice insince i left the jw's i never wear a neck tie!
i probably have 75 to a 100 of them, but they don't seem to wear them in any churches, do not wear them to weddings and funerals, or even to exclusive restaurants.
i'm certainly never going back to the kingdom hall!.

I have not seen my Dad or brother wear a tie since we left. I know my brother donated his, I am not sure Dad still has any. I think I would laugh my head off if I saw them dressed up now, they are so far away from that. My Dad has a pony and wears a bandana everywhere. He always hated dressing up.

I wouldn't if they are going to bring the party down. Are of the uptight calss or can the be okay at a party?? Some of them like to let loose when they have a chance away from the others watchful eye. At least get a present from them
