No physical or verbal abuse. He is just very irresponsible, somewhat lazy, immature and generally annoying. We did get married in unusual circumstances, long story, thought it was for the best, maybe it will be someday, but right now, feels like a mistake.

Oh My Goodness yes!!!! Today is one of those days, although no air conditioning problems in my own home, but I have to clean my brothers house once a week, and that was today, and his A/C is really touch and go. It is over 100 degrees today and I am pregnant and as huge as a house and feel like Im carrying a heater on my stomach not to mention my toddler that likes to climb on me and a big hairy dog following me around the house. He thinks he is a lap dog and he is 60lbs. The heat makes me grouchy grouchy grouchy. I can't wait for fall!!!

My brother has many problems
by Butterfly32 inmy brother and i were raised as jw, were both adults now and non believers.
my brother has many problems, he has no identity of himself, he is on drugs, he has no plans for his future, no plans for higher education, he never expresses himself, he doesnt show his true feelings.
i feel that he is a victim of being in a jw cult.

I agree that counseling would be a very big help for him!! Although my brother has not struggled with drugs, he has alot of the same issues you mentioned, as a result of the cult. It is, at times, frustrating, because you can see where the issues arise from and they won't. But keep trying and keep helping!!!!

I am a mostly stay at home Mom ( I work the family business from home part time). It is the HARDEST job I have ever had!!! You definitetly have to keep organized as far as what needs to be done. I set aside certain days to do things for example:
Sunday and Wed: Clean bathrooms
Sunday: Change sheets on all beds
Monday: Entire house (sweeping, mopping, vacuming, etc)
Paydays (every week) Grocery Shopping
Pay Bills every other payday (every two weeks)
I find that spending a few minutes every morning and every evening on picking up etc also helps keep the house from getting out of control.
The ONE thing my husband does around the house is the lawn, so I don't have that on my list thank goodness!!!
Have fun!!!!!!!!

Its the faux power that got to me. It seems like they aren't real successful in the real world, and the only place they have power and admiration is at the Hall and they just eat that up, use it to boost there egos.

He says use the rod?
by beautifulisfree inhas your child raising or discipline tatics changed since your out of the borg?
i always thought that i would use spanking as a discipline.
since supposedly the bible encourages it.

My parents were pretty rare spankers, but I tell ya, I have seen some major JW spankers in my life. Sometimes it seemed like parents at the KH would wait for any reason to exert authority over their small children. I myself am not a spanker, I am a swatter...I only do one swat when needed, but man do I feel awful. She so rearely gets swatted though, so when she does, she knows to listen, so it does work!
