5% of jw have a BS? (that is just pathetically incredible to think about. What a waste...)

I have a BS in Medical Technology and currently work in a hospital lab. I absolutely love it. I was in college '87-'91. Was this a time period where education was NOT frowned upon? Or was I ignoring subtle 'counsel'? I really can't remember. At any rate, I would have ignored it anyway after laughing (independent thinking starts early) that it's stupid to waste a brain...

I've thought about going on to getting something more, as I do love learning in general. In lab tech, after a few years, we can have a "specialty" in a particular department (micro, chem, hematology etc) but my lab isn't large enough to have the variety of tests and procedures to qualify me to meet the criteria. But I am happy as I am.

Having this evil "higher education" has saved me financially when the ex took off and is now not very on time with his support. I'm almost at the point where I don't NEED his loot because of a decent enough salary. No silly Awake ~~University~~ magazine is going to feed my kids...

A couple public reproofs and one DF. And endless nit-picks about my skirts, my jeep, my kids' commenting, my commenting, my weightloss during a separation, my association with a certain 'brother' (ok, I'll give them that one, they were right ),my working out, my wordly friends, my family, my job, my football obsession...

The last "discipline" was back to THEM, the elders who I now shun...

Do you get speeding tickets often, or get away with alot of traffic tickets

i didn't get a ticket in over 15 years, although i drive alot.. i always wear my seatbelts, never go more than 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit, and make decent stops, not dead stops, but decent ones..... here in quebec, if ya do a lousy stop, but that i mean if you don't completely stop, they call tha an american stop here.

I'm kind of a leadfoot... I've had a few tickets, nothing huge except for my most recent one. 81 in a 55, but he knocked it down to 75. I'm going to court to fight it next month as there's a story...

I had passed an old, blue, beat up Caprice with the license "PSYCHO" on it a few miles back. Once I passed, they stayed right on my butt. There were two guys in there, I was alone out on the county roads, it was about 8pm. So I slowed down to let them pass. They didn't. I sped up, they sped up. So I was about 5 miles from my town and doing the 80mph. I told the cop that I felt like I was being chased and just wanted to get to town, like I've heard one is 'supposed to do'. The dumb cop told me that I should have 'pulled off on a gravel road'. Yeah.... riiiiiiight and what if they'd pulled off too?!? I didn't argue with him THEN, but will use this in court, hopefully to my advantage. Also, I found out that this car's driver didn't have a license, had a warrant out for his arrest for drugs in the next county and had drugs in the car. So I was right in my un-PC profiling...

I should maybe mention that I do totally deserve the ticket, I'm a speeder.... I have a radar detector that has saved me countless times. Except this one....

Court date is August 8th... Worst case, I pay my fine and my insurance bumps up a bit.

Weather!

it is so blazing hot here in houston!

it's almost 10:00 pm and the ac is still running, and i've got the thermostat set at 80. .

what kind of weather are you dealing with where you live this fine july?.

We hit 101 today... still around 80-something. I'm afraid (and too comfy) to get up and look.... Humidity is up there, too.

i got my first (last and only) tattoo in vegas last week!

got my wife's name on the back of my neck (low enough that the shirt covers it!

Too big for my britches :S

when i was in ny i didn't want to buy the cliche "i heart ny" t-shirt... so i got some boxers.

there's just one small problem... i purchased them as "men's large" and before wearing them i put them through the wash, but they appear to have come out as a "woman's petite".

any petite apostababes out there want a really nice pare of white boxers that say "i heart ny"?

since our football season is starting up soon, i was interested in gauging interest in a non-gambling football pool.

this would be for the professional leagues only, and could be picking winners straight-up or against the las vegas pointspread as posted by the usa today on the tuesday before the games on sunday and monday.. there would be weekly winners, and a season long winner.

I gave up holidays with my family, my freedom to think and believe as I wanted and 15 years in a cult to marry my "true love"... (although I did try to believe it, kinda mostly did... anyway...)

I now have neither as each has 'cheated' me in some way.

but I'm a stronger, better person for having had experienced it all, I think.
