i was at home and a man came to the door...i knew immediately he was a jw brother, however, he was quite handsome (no offense) and very well built.

he looked like a cross between brad pitt/tom cruise/evan marriott.... he wore a very nice dark gray suit that formed perfectly to his sculpted muscles...he had a very nice book bag.

black, brushed silver hardware.

It is very interesting that you state that everything (almost) was perfect about this brother who came to your door. The one thing that made him not "perfect" in his facade was him encouraging you to lie to your husband about his purpose in being in your home.

You mention that everything about this brother was "perfect" in every way, from his physique to his book bag. You also mention how you, on a sexual level, were "taken" by him. You mentioned that you even brought in your mother to go with you.

It sounds to me like this is an all-encompassing thing. What I see here is your subconscious telling you that things are not always as they appear. By your dreaming this on a sexual level could be attributed to hormones, but I feel that it is more than that. I feel that by dreaming this on a sexual level made it very personal to you. Possibly even a life-altering thing for you. After all, what is more personal than letting go in a sexual manner?

I feel that by you dreaming that you brought your mother means that you had some trepidations and needed a level head with you to help you sort out your feelings.

There is a saying "Wolves in sheep's clothing". I think your dream was telling you exactly that!

What to do with my WT library?

after i came back for down under this jan. i gathered up all my j-dud literature except my indexes, bound volumes, insight and aid books.

these i wanted to use for references.

i took the rest out to the dumpster behind my office and filled the thing!

I would be very interested in getting books or bound volumes from anyone who wants to get rid of theirs. I have the bound volumes from 1964 to 1990. Actually it is from these dates for the watchtower, kind of intermittent for the awakes. Nothing before or after. I am very willing to pay for the postage to send them. If interested in sending them contact me at [email protected].

I am very interested in getting these as my youngest daughter has just informed me that she is now going to go back to the hall to look at this with an "adult" eye, rather than looking at it from a "child's" aspect. I am very worried that this is what she will choose to do regardless of my warning her to look at the "origins" of the religion just as the wbts tells its followers to do when it comes to anything and everything they know is wrong according to their doctrines.

I am sorry that I didn't get back to this thread earlier. At first I didn't say anything because I had hoped it would get lost. Apparently that is not in the cards, as they say. I tried a couple of times today to find it, but with limited time and having the flu right now I couldn't find it.

I just came in and it was right there. I never intended for this to happen and never thought that it might have been a possiblility. I apologise to everyone for this, especially Rev. Yes, I am going through a very hard time right now but it does not excuse what I did. I can sit here forever and try to justify or find reasons why I did it, but that is not going to change that I did it. Nor will it make it better. I did it and I so very sorry I did.

At some point I will probably get into what is going on with me, but I can't do that right now. Right now I am just doing the best I can to get things back on track. I love my brother so much and I look back and I am appalled at my own actions. I am glad that my brother is such a loving, forgiving man.

Rev, sometimes family has frequent flyer miles that might work out for you. If you want to visit family due to certain circumstances, ask if they possibly have some. i know that if my brother wanted to come to me and help me...I would certainly help him get advantage of my frequent flyer miles. This is a big problem with me sheila. I know that many people accept, on the surface what he says, but it is mostly lies from what I see. I am afraid that you, individually, are one that is duped.

LOL, I can appreciate the following points because these are what I remember from mom:

#3 My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL ."If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you! into the middle of next week!"

My mom was a bit more specific. She always told us that it would be next "Tuesday".

#4 My mother taught me LOGIC. "Because I said so, that's why."

What mother DOESN"T say that?!

#6 My mother taught me FORESIGHT. "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

Bill Cosby knew the illogicalness (sp) in that. He said "First you say...then you do it!" No explanations necessary.

#7 My mother taught me IRONY. "Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

Nuff said. (Ouch!)

#10. My mother taught me about STAMINA.! 'You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."

This did not involve me, but I felt so sorry for my brother who had to sit for hours with liver in his mouth (literally) because he could not swallow it.

I had to amend this one because it wasn't the wonderful parents that were applauded in my case...mine went on to say "don't have this (insert food name here). I eventually told my mother to send my leftovers to the unfortunate because I could not eat it. I never heard this statement again.

# 25. And my favorite: my mother taught me about JUSTICE. "One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!"

Not sure how I feel about that one right now.

This is a horrible thing to happen. These people are true heroes. They knew ahead of time that there were risks to what they were doing...yet they did it. Very heroic people. Not to sound harsh or anything, they knew that this was a possibility,...my heart and prayers go out to their family and friends. I do hope that no others are effected (ie. those on the ground).

I put up my flag of the U.S. shortly after hearing about this and a neighbor of mine stopped her car in front of my house to thank me for putting it out. We must feel a sense of pride for what these men and women did.

May a sense of peace come over the remaining family, because these people did know the risk and they did it for all of mankind.

Weekly Food Bill Survey

after reading the thread on portion sizes, it'd be interesting to see what folks spend weekly on their groceries.

one of my new year's resolutions was to improve my finances and groceries are coming under scrutiny.

i spend about 30 a week (now), but when i wasn't paying attention and stopping in all the time, i'll bet i was spending double that.. so, what do you spend?

I spend on the average of $185./wk. This includes cleaning supplies. There are just my husband and I living here at the moment, but we have 3 college students (2 daughters and a future son-in-law) that eat here also.
