  i think i come across as a bit agressive online but in reality i know i'm extremely chilled - lazy some might say.

  i'm greek you see and we do so love to argue the toss - loudly and insistently - and then have a game of tavli (backgammon) afterwards.

  thing is most of my family are still jw's and as i can't do it with them you guys end up getting both barrels!!.

  perhaps some of you had to suffer thru the society's latest special talk in which they rehashed the idea that our evil world exists.

  because satan's challenges have to be answered.. .... but no one ever reasons on what a truly dumb idea this is!.

  the dumb part of it is the fact that jehovah is said to sustain the universe, "making it rain upon the wicked and the righteous".. there is simply no way that god could be challenged on a "moral" basis since there is no way to ever prove that god.

  I would like to have an answer to that question......Are we pawns in a game between God and Satan.....It doesn't justifi the hundreds of years of suffering by humans in this water torture type nonsense.

  Why do the British dubs have such an animosity to Harry Potter?!

  if i have ever mentioned that i've seen the movies or read the books to a witness in gb, i get the kind of reaction that used to be reserved for smurfs here in america.. i am not naive enough to not understand any discomfort with a school for witches, but this stuff is about as threatening as casper the friendly ghost.

  i find the books charming, if a little long winded and formulaic.

  the movies, especially the later two, tighten up the plots and jettison a lot of excess baggage.

  Reading this thread gets me thinking....are the GB really earthly? Because it seems to me they are looking for a good old time with a younger woman before they kick on out to heaven where there is no sex.

  Big Tex....HUH??? I am not a Fundy or a JW.....I don't belong to any religion.....The scripture explains why, and I thought you wanted to understand why Main stream Christians didn't want their Kids to see the movie or read the book on "Harry Potter". I am still only the Messenger bringing the message.
