  on october 2, 1914a hundred years ago todaycharles t. russell announced, the gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.

  for almost 40 years, among other predictions for that year, 1914 had been looked to as the end of armageddon, false religion, and all governments, and the beginning of paradise on earth and the resurrection.

  Personally, I think that poor old Charles Taze Russell has been misquoted all these years.

  As you may recall, Charles and his wife Maria had a sexless marriage. My own personal opinion is that on the night of October 1, 1914 they finally consummated their marriage and had sexual relations. I believe what he really said that morning was:

  "The Genital Times have ended; I feel like a KING today!" C.T. Russell October 2, 1914

  (This is my opinion only and not to be confused with any New Light)

  Where Are You on The Witno Scale?

  1 - still think it's the truth ...came to this site cause danger is your middle name.. 2 - concerned, smoething's amiss but still believe.

  3 - 98% sure it's bs, but still go for / with family.

  4 - anger / denial, inactive with minimal attendance (ie memorial, spec talk etc).

  Will the kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses signs eventually come down?

  it is clear that the leaders of the jehovahs witness religion are rebranding.

  so as a strategy they could have both the jw.org signs and kingdom hall signs running at the same time and then in a few years instruct congregations to remove the kingdom hall signs.

  this happens all the time with commercial products when there are mergers and company takeovers.. .

  My mother always thought that I would die at Armageddon because I was unfaithful. In the Spring of 2015 she will have been dead for 15 years and I'm still here.

  Minimus, maybe you should buy your mother a copy of WALDEN by Henry David Thoreau. "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, DISCOVER THAT I HAD NOT LIVED (caps mine). I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life......"

  Personally Minimus, I hope we all get to LIVE now before we die. Not just EXIST in hopes of getting to live in some 'promised new paradise earth' sometime in the unknown future.

  poll, why would you hide it your buisness/job

  how many people on here who were or are jws, owned or ran a buisness who would not willingly let people at the k hall know, maybe to avoid feeling like you had to give your fellow brothers and sisters a discount, or free help, or out of fear of being judged.

  did you only help out the pioneers?

  and not the poor ones?

  This is a sore subject with me. There is an INACTIVE (he does not go out in field service but attends most meetings) brother in my old hall that owns a landscaping business. He is INVITED to work on every quick build in the Circuit and does tree work on established Halls for free. It is the same old double standard. If the Jehovahs Witnesses can get something from you for FREE that they can't get from some other source then they don't care what your standing is in the congregation or in the world. Hypocrisy fine tuned and practised as an art!

  the new young blood gb member, you think he really thinks this is the truth or is he protecting his financial interest like all the older gb members who enjoy basking in glory of men?

  do you think they believe in the "over-lapping generation" or was that a mistake done by barr?.

  how much of the watchtower and the bible do the governing body know, ray franz jr. said he was not impressed with their bible knowledge and their lack of knowledge of the watchtower cannon.
