  although, the complaints may be valid and sad.

  many posters here have vented about their wicked parents.. i think its time we parents have a post dedicated to saying something horrid about our kids.

  it maybe something you have wanted to say about them that was in the past or happening now.

  My kids are 16 and 14 at the moment and they are both vile. They are both lazy, couldn't care less about school work, they both smoke and they steal money from me.
  
  They also have some lovely personality traits which I'm hoping will soon supercede the horrid ones.
  
  In the meantime, would anyone like to adopt? LOL

  What "Rules" Did You Have In Your Congregation?

  in our congregation, we had a theocratic ministry school overseer make the sisters stand while giving their talks because he would counsel them on a point of counsel having to do with speaking to the "householder".

  (i forget that exact point of counsel) so the sisters knew they had to follow this imbecile's quirks or get a "w".

  another rule that was eventually abandoned too, was that only elders and ministerial servants could offer prayer at the kingdom hall......any rules that you had to deal with??

  We weren't allowed to eat sweets during the meeting. So after 2 hours everybody had breath that you could strip paint with!!!

  Need Some Advice Please

  as you know i have been posting for a while now and i want to say i am really enjoying it.

  i love everyone here!

  i have noticed many great minds out there and i am in need of some advice, i am looking for some ideas on how to handle a situation.. i left the wt with my family about two years ago now.

  Hi again Daystar. You say that god may have caused things to be written in the Bible that are so complicated they may not be seen as things that are common sense then we may ignore them.
  
  I can't imagine that a loving god would give us a book then make it too difficult to understand (in places). This then brings me round full circle to my original quandry.
  
  Perhaps beliefs should just be picked and chosen according to what one understands and what is right for them.

  Because there are common sense things in the Bible. Such as the golden rule etc. Lots of the principles are a good guide for life.

  I would never use the Bible to sway my beliefs anyway. There's good and bad in it and it's not all 100% reliable.

  Ok Daystar I see where you're coming from. So perhaps it is society that perpetrates the idea of a deity not human istinct.
  
  I guess we'll never know for sure though.
