Let's All Welcome Veradico!!!
by onesong inhe's a good friend of mine who will have plenty to add here.
(he's written volumes on the dubs) having recently attained some much needed freedom he was able to join the forum.. he may be a little hesitant to come forth at first, but with a little coaxing...he's got a good "coming out of the org.
" story and lots of insight!.

some may remember my post about my brother-in-law with cancer.
he passed away at 52 on labor day, so sad for my husband.

Some jw's are so self centred. They really don't care about anything not connected with their precious religion.
Urrrgggg! This story made me so angry and so sorry for your son. -

New to JW's and need to ask some questions....
by missk_ensington ini'm a new poster as well as being new to jw's (currently having bible studies) and i have been researching the religion to make sure i go into it fully understanding what it is about, and what implications it would have on my life.
i am 20, a single parent with a child and although i was brought up being told 'the truth' by my mum, only have early memroes of attending kh.
they are now trying to suck me back in but i have grave reservations and would lke everyone's opinion/view/advice.

Hi Missk and welcome. I just have one piece of advice for you - RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Please don't get involved with the jw cult, you will regret it, and getting out is far harder than getting in. -

Divorce Rate of Those When Young??
by buffalosrfree inmy daughters were at a club the other evening ( saturday) and ran into 5 witnesses they knew as younger children, they had all been married and were in the process of getting divorced.
four were men, 1 woman, two of the men we had known literally for years and i had liked them all.
i had told my children when they got married that it wouldn't be long before they were married.

I married at age 20 after 11 months of dating. Obviously I was desperate for sex, and as soon as the novelty of that had worn off, about 2 years, I knew the marriage was over.
Being a good jw, I couldn't just leave, so I had 2 children and tried to take my mind off my problems. It didn't work. I got divorced after 16 years of marriage, 14 of which were unhappy!
Marrying too young really doesn't work, except in special cases, which tend to be the exception not the rule. -

I don't have enough hours in the day to exercise, but I sprinkled cinnamon on my porridge this morning. I'm expecting a huge weight loss!

IT'S OFFICIAL! MEETINGS WILL LAST FOREVER!! Shoot me now!

Jw's will still have to be warned about bad associations with dodgy resurrected people. Meetings will be essential because everyone will be so wrapped up in their idyllic lives they will forget to worship Jehovah. Perish the thought!

Has anyone insisted on bringing a lawyer to jc meeting?
by lighthouse19something inif it's called 'judicial', i don't see why you can't
-
bubble
Perhaps it's time people did start taking lawyers into jc's. If everyone did it, they'd have to allow it. If they proceed without you present and df you anyway, I thought you could sue for that, especially if they have no hard evidence on you for a df'ing offence!

And am currently reading 'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell - extremely good.
I have read 'Catcher in the Rye', I found it quite hard to read but I'm glad I did, not sure why. -

Hi Pepperdoodles and welcome. I know of 2 jw's that were policemen. And they were both ministerial servants, and funnily enough, they both had beards too!
I think there are probably more jw police here in the UK due to fact that they don't carry guns.
