  Would you change the way you left if you could?

  if you were put in a similar position to when you left the jws, would you choose to leave in a particular way because of your experiences?

  if you had nothing to loose from family etc, would you be tempted to leave with a bang, or to get some sort of revenge on those who shun you?

  I wish I just DA'd myself at 18 instead of being DF'd at 26. I wish I didn't give them the satisfaction of DF me.

  If I had DA'd myself then I never would have married my first husband when I was 19. Then again, I wouldn't have my wonderful son if I had not married his dad.

  All in all, I think things happen for a reason. I'm a lot stronger because of how things panned out. It makes you stronger when you have to face the world alone with no family and no friends to support you. I refuse to let stangers in Brooklyn have such an influence on my life anymore.

  How do some of you, find so much time to be on this board?

  i have noticed that some posters are here a lot, and i was just wondering how you find so much time to do that?

  between work, coming home and playing with my child, working outdoors in the yard, and enjoying the weekend in the outdoors doing fishing, hiking or just getting outside.

  i have little time for places like this and yet some are here "a lot!

  I used to get on at work when I first joined but we recently had a memo go around the office stating we shouldn't be wasting time on the web. So now I just get on at home, but finding the time to do that is far and few between.

  Your greatest turn of luck

  what was your greatest turn of luck in life, finding a treasure or winning the lotterry, a great spouse, a good teacher or something else?

  for me it was investing in a flat that saw a big increase in its value in two years.

  I think my greatest (besides being disfellowshipped) was meeting my future husband. He treats me very well, loves my kids from my previous marriage, and loves me for who I am.

  why can't witnesses be like normal people?

  because they have to think about every single possibility that might or could occur.

  what if someone could be "stumbled" by my course?

  I got sick of the micromanaging style.

  EVERYTHING you do they have to have a say-so!

  "Don't wear your hair like that/dress like that . . . you might stumble someone"

  "Don't drive that type of car . .you might stumble someone"

  Even telling a man and woman what is appropriate or not appropriate in the privacy of their own bedroom!

  I remember being at a Distric Convention once and a mother was in the bathroom beating their kid so bad that another sister went out and grabbed an attendant and they had to intervene.

  I also remember a couple who went to my hall and they would bring a wooden paddle with holes drilled in it and they would bring it out and show their kids and the kids would cringe. Makes you wonder what went on at home with the paddle.

  My mom used to brag about spanking my brother when he was 6 weeks old because he was crying at a meeting. She said he was old enough to realize that crying would get his way. My dad was especially cruel to my brother. My sisters and I would witness my dad beating him with a belt numerous times. I was the youngest and never got that kind of torture. My sisters and I would stand there and cry when he was being beat. He ran away from home when he was 16 and committed suicide when he was 23.

  OK...I Just Have to Share....

  i put my house on the market today at around 12:45pm... the sign went in our front yard around 1:20pm...2:10 the realtor phones and says that someone wants to see the house 1:30 tomorrow (saturday)....then he phones back at 3:45 (i'm out picking up lucifer from work) i phone him back around 4:00pm...he says the people want to see the house at 5:30pm (today)....9:30 we get an offer, and we sign the papers....i am sooooooo happy...lol...but they have 20 days to get an inspector in and their finances in place....so may 11th, if all goes well, my house is sold!

  i just had to share..lol....i have been phoning everyone!

  Congratulations!!!

  My future hubby and I just bought a house ourselves. It is a real buyers market were I live. The house we bought is a new construction and it's been on the market since last November.

  in my case, it was always the length of the meetings that bothered me.. no matter what meeting it is, you have to get there prepared, and that means lots of time reading the darn literature.. another thing that would irritate me, is all the magazines that come in faster than i can read.. i'll let you guys add to this list.. .

  I think teenagers and pre-teens. Those years were really hard on me. You want to be accepted by your friends at school and you want to be cool but thats hard to do when they see you going door to door and you know you cannot celebrate holidays.

  My son is 13 and when he is with me he is a normal kid. He has friends, he is allowed to talk on the phone to kids at school. He can celebrate his birthday and have Christmas with me. I wish I had a choice when I was his age.

  I got DF'D yesterday

  i got a call from my wife today.

  she said they made the announcement at the hall yesterday that i got df'd.

  they said that i am no longer a jehovah's witness.

  Congratulations. Hope you are doing well. I remember your gas station fiasco.

  I sometimes see those cards that say "Congratulations on your divorce" and I wish they made "congratulations on being disfellowshipped!" That would be good one.

  Nice looking dog . . . I had an English Bulldog (RIP 7/4/05) . .no the same as the American but still a bully.
