Eventually when JWD was not back up in an hour or so, I went over to Tomschat. I just sat back and read everyone elses stuff but not sign up/in. I am wondering what Tomschat's numbers were over the 24 hour period that JWD was down. I bet it would be interesting to see.

There is a Canadian beer from Molson called Brador (sp?). We cannot get it here in the States. I have even e-mailed and written Molson to beg them to ship it to the States but they won't. Those Canadians, they are so stingy with their good beer. Anyways, I use to have a connection that would bring it back with him when he would return from his many fishing trips to Canada. Alas, he is still a solid JW and I no longer am in contact with him. So no Brador.

Perfect hangover cure. Something here in the US called Chaser. You take it when you start drinking, next day you are good to go, no worries.

Do you like to complain?
by JH in.
in a way i love to complain.. our roads are horrible, the gas is way to expensive, the neighbour is a pig and could sweep his darn sidewalk, the lady across the street could put a smaller wattage bulb not to blind be on her porch, inflation is going up faster than my salary.....and so on.
ok, what do you like to complain about?

Some times I b*tch for the sake of b*tching. I have girl friends like this too and we all understand eachother. However, when we are with the men in our lives they get frustrated, I think because they think it is really a problem and they want to help us figure out a solution.
The things I generally complain about are taxes, in particular property tax. Drives me nuts. But there are other times when I get upset because people let their dogs take a dump on side walk and they don't clean it up. Nice, classy people that they are. Yuck.

Wishful Thinking
by ballistic inan old woman goes into a sex shop and asks the assistant if she can have a look at an assortment of vibrators.
despite a wide range of colours, shapes and sizes, none of them appeal to the old lady.
she looks up and says to the assistant, "can i have a look at the tartan one up there on the shelf?

Hey, there are thermos flask vibrators out there. I was at a sex toy party and there was a rep from the store. It was hysterical some of the stuff she brought with her. There were about 30 of us and we had so much fun. Some of the stuff we just could not understand how it worked or how a woman would not injury herself in the process. Ladies if you get invited to one of those parties GO it is great.

Good luck on your surgery.
Not sure how lucid I can be on morphine !
As for the bbq, your motto should be DRINKING AND DRUGS DO MIX and I am a living example of that.

What kind of funeral will you have?
by MsMcDucket ini know that this is a morbid topic, but i often wonder what kind of funeral that i should have.
i mean, i'm not associated with any religion.
i don't want a preacher there speaking about the afterlife or trying to recruit followers.

I want a cross between an Irish wake and a New Orleans style funeral. Lots of booze, lots of laughs and lots of good memories. When my father passed away years ago, we had an Irish style wake for him. I know it sounds horrible, but I remember it as a really good time. In our family growing up, we were allowed to drink liquor as long as it was in the house. My grandfather brought up some of his home made wine (which is like lighter fluid, strong stuff and really not that good until you drink enough of it and then it is darn fine) and we drank and told stories and I found out more about my dad and his life and friends then I ever knew. It really was nice. That is what I want. I want a huge party, open bar, lots of food and dancing to a live band (that is what the New Orleans part would be). I want people to enjoy their life not morn over the loss of mine.

Didn't Loco Ono address this whole thing not too long ago. She made one of her rare appearanes and said that people were getting rich off of John, blah, blah, blah. don't shave your pits, blah, blah, blah, don't wash your hair, blah, blah, blah.
No, really she did address this and said that there was not going to be any major sit-in, seance or hunger strike in lieu of his birthday or date of death.

HOW DOES YOUR COUNTRY COMPARE W/THE U.S. W/TAXES AND HEALTH CARE?
by juni inin the u.s, 1/3 of your salary/wages goes toward taxes.. also, we have various state sales taxes on certain "luxury items" such as t.p.
in wisconsin it is 5.5%.. in 2004, 28% of americans had no health insurance.
presently, 40% have no health insurance.. .

Unfortuantely someone sold a bill of goods to the US public that if they have universal health care that it will make their health care providers either become dumb or inaccessable. But you have to keep in mind most Americans are not known for their traveling any where other then the States. Most Americans who do travel to countries outside of the US that are not considered 3rd World Countries (where cheap Americans go to get cheap vacations) can afford to pay what they pay in health care (and most likely their company is picking up the majority of their health care costs). So the average American does not know that there are countries that have universal health care and they are not warming themselves by oil drums in the middle of the street. I think universal health care would be wonderful for the States. I don't believe it will ever happen because beside the oil companies getting rich off of the average joe's back, the insurance companies are doing the same as well.
What is ironic is that insurance companies set prices for most of their vendors - example, insurance company says to law firm, I will only pay X amount of dollars for this type of work and law firms says either OK we can do that for that price or they lose the business. Insurance company says to hospitals/doctors/treaters, we will only pay X amount of dollars for this type of procedure/surgery/treatment. Treaters say ok or they lose out on being part of the in network for the insurance company. So why can't we say, hey insurance company, I am not going to pay $175 a month for insurance, $500 deductible, not all meds covered by insurance and no dental as part of our package. I am willing to pay X amount of dollars take it or leave it. The problem is that the insurance companies are not in competition with eachother they are in bed with eachother so they can set high rates and the average person is stuck and has to pay it because there is no where else to turn.
Oh by the way, what does the average home owner here pay in taxes. My taxes for a 1200 foot condo w/ a balcony is $5,000 a year. WTF! Keep in mind that I have a mortgage and assessments every month - although I don't pay any utilities except for my phone, so the assessments are pretty fair. But the real estate taxes are a frig'n joke.

What constitutes a lot? As for me and my household (hey had to throw some JW lingo in there) .... I work in an office that is pretty Big Brother and once they catch on to people doing something other then working for the Republican Party, they shut it down. So a part of me does my posting while at work, in order to stick it to the man. I don't know why they have not blocked the site yet, but I am going to keep trying to go up to the next level as much as possible while I am at work. I am a independent and it just irkes me that I have to tow the line to a bunch of uptight Republican lawyers. Don't get me started!!!! There are times that it is worse then being a JW and I am NOT kidding. The politics that go on in our firm is out of control. As for home, I leave my computer up at home all day, so I just go in and check to see if there are things I want to share (are there things L_G does not want to share??? well yes there are SHOCKING isn't it). And did I mention, I don't sleep a lot. So it all evens out in the end.
