JT - is that a new position, because about 10 years ago I know a group of JWs that got together and the couple hosting had new construction going on and one of the idiots managed to fall down a hole and have severe injuries. The injured guy sued (the couple submitted to their home owner's insurance co.) and it caused a huge stir in the congo. The guy suing was pretty much under 24 hour watch and the minute he did something deemed "wrong" they df'd him. Also, there was a local needs talk about not taking your brother to court.

by Gill inthe story was kept hushed up, much as in any 'abuse' case that goes on in the wt world but, jws don't like anything to make the wt society look bad.. one jw woman out on 'the misery', reversed into and dragged down the street another jw woman who then broke both arms, ribs, pelvis etc.
infact, she is lucky to still be alive.
this horror was not announced at any kh in the country and kept quiet.

Yesterday my father informed me that he will shun me...
by nvrgnbk inbut only if a judicial committee tells him to.. if they say i'm inactive and let me be, he can still talk to me.. it's meaningless, because i would never meet with a jc, but he let me know where he stands.. he's dead to me.. i'm not hurting.. lost tons of respect for the man.. i told him he was brainwashed and left him without saying goodbye.. to no longer live for his approval was liberating, but this is even better.. i told him that i couldn't do that to my son.. his response?.
unconditional love is a lie.. you only get unconditional love from a dog.. sick, brainwashed, emotionally bankrupt man.. p.s.- not looking for cyber hugs.
just sharing the experience for others going through similar things and for lurkers to see what this cult does to people.. regards,.

Never - Glad to get a chuckle.
BFD - Here is a mental picture. Once, when I was in band camp (well not band camp, but maybe a b-day party after a couple of drinks), my GFs and I decided to take the camera and put it down our shirts and take pics .... well let's just say if you took a pic of a 5 year olds bottom that is what my photo looked like. Pretty funny! Especially after 5 or 10 drinks!
As for the dad thing, again, in the end they have made their choice and it is their's to live w/. People can justify any behavior (good or bad) in the name of religion. It is one of the few arenas where hate is tolerated. Unfortunately, this religion just does the hate thing REALLY well.

It will be a year soon since my mother sent me "you are dead to me" ltr. Because I am inactive and until I turn back to Jah, she is doing the "tough love" on me. In her ltr she said that I can pretend to be an orphan and maybe my "shallow worldly friends will support me" until the END OF THE WORLD (a/k/a armageddon) and then I will have to stand all alone and explain to Jah why I turned my back on him.
Whatever.
Never - it is easy to say that it does not bother us but in the end it does. But it is possible to accept that our active jw family is messed up and the reason they buy into the whole there is no such thing as unconditional love is cause they have never experienced it so they think it is impossible to receive/give.
I have really close friends who do act like family and I get to pick them on to of everything cause I have family that even when I was an active JW, I did not like them very much.
No cyber hugs cause you said you were not looking for that. But, based on prior posts, I think I know what would make you feel better .... How about a cyber flash (I just lifted my shirt and flashed ya). You're a boy and you boyz love that crap. So that is my way of making you feel better.

How often does the average person get a JW to there door - not often!

I do think it has to do with where you live. I live in the city and I have NEVER had a JW or LDS come to my door, but I live in a secured community. I see the JWs on the street though, but not that often. When I lived in the burbs, depending on where I lived in relation to the KH, I would get more visits. I think it had to do with people getting their time started. However, I have a GF who asked me the other day if there is a special campaign w/ the JWs cause they have been to her block once a week for the last month and she is not that close to KH.
If the end is based on all being preached to, they have a long way to go.

by restrangled inan uncle of mine bought a house from an older lady and she left about 300 lps all classical music.
all in excellent condition.
i have searched the net and am trying to figure out what to do with them.

Hey - I am not trying to high-jack anyone's thread ..... but
I also have a bunch of LPs. They are mostly Led Zepplin. I inherited them from a friend of my mom's. Anyways, I have In Through the Out Door in its original brown paper wrapping. I also have Physical Graffiti, which appears to be the most valuable. I went onto the sites recommended, but them seem to be dominated by purists and that frightens me cause I am a novice. I just want a simple site that can tell me a range that the stuff might be worth. Anyone have any suggestions for that?
Also, other than dates produced, do the other numbers mean anything as well ... example PG has the following 1975 as the year and SS 2-200. and below the list of songs ST-SS-753310. Does this mean anything? If so, can someone please break it down for the blonde in the room.

Technically anyone who does not agree w/ the WTBTS is an apostate.
A woman I work w/ gets called on all the time (I think her house is close to a KH and they probably get their time started by calling on the houses near the KH) and it was driving her crazy. She kept trying to think up ways to get them to stop calling (I told her to put up a sign but she kept forgetting). Finally, I told her (and wrote down the word) to say that she is an apostate and she said since then they have not returned.

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?
by Black Man ini often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

Joelbear ... w/ respect to Mike Reinke, I know his family (sister Mary Nelson .... she ran her husband who ran the congo as he was a PO for a long time til his loser kids took him down) very well. He moved back to Zion/Waukegan, IL and lived there and then moved "where the need was greater". He moved to Alton, IL. He was made an elder and married a "sister" who came in after completing medical school. He was married to her for about 5 seconds b/4 she left him and went back home to her parents. From what I understand he still pioneers but I think he "stepped down" to MS after his wife left him. I don't know if he made his way back up to elder or not, as it has been a while since his separation.
Anyone know Nathan Kalk? He was at Bethel but it was in the 80's and he was not a lifer.
