They leave out all the unwritten rules, such as no beards for brothers and no privileges, restrictions on newly reinstated dubs and other stuff.
Guess what I did when I left...
Yes, and I like it!
we all know the watchtower soicety can be deceitful at times.
one place i've noticed their deceit is in their main 'bible' study/cult introduction book 'what does the bible really teach?
designed for a jw holding a bible study with an interested person, this books tries to convince the person being studied with, that this religion knows the truth about the bible.
They leave out all the unwritten rules, such as no beards for brothers and no privileges, restrictions on newly reinstated dubs and other stuff.

i just read the topic "i thought i was alone" by newbie elinor.
i found it interesting how he mentioned that he wanted to throw the daniel book "across the room" after reading some of the many misapplied prophecies concocted by the overlord's in brooklyn.
when i was a jw i also fantasized at times of throwing the book across the room, but for me it was the revelation book over ten years ago.
Haven't thrown one, but was with a group who shot a NWT with a rifle...forget the caliber, but it was big.
what the hell is the point......?.
1.undeserved kindness.
ask yourself why you don't deserve kindness.
Listen, I don't believe this crap, but I have to respond to this in order to be fair. Flame away.
2. ARMAGEDDONGod didn't kill Adam and Eve even though he promised he would. He let them breed, for heaven's sakes! God wanted to give the unborn a chance to DECIDE on important issues and he'd reserve judgment until later. That would be fair. God was just trying to be fair....right? No, you moron! Allowing defective children to be born is not fair! Allowing billions of kids to experience pain, suffering, ignorance, poverty and disease isn't fair either. On what basis would morally defective humans make such important choices anyway? The problem with this explanation is that Adam and Eve had UNCONCEIVED children before they had UNBORN children. It is only because Jehovah didn't step in and stop the conception of doomed children that we have the doctrine of ARMAGEDDON.
Actually, JW's teach that God allowed the human race to procreate and continue on because the issue of universal sovreignty was raised in the Garden of Eden. If God had wiped out Adam and Eve, it would be admitting that Satan was right, humans wouldn't choose to serve God. I'm just saying....
It's a myth, but let's get our facts correct anyhoo.
i also believe in santa clause and that david beckham has a phd.
seriously though, i have only been here a short while but it has been more than enough to convince me to hand in my resignation.
i have telephoned our sec, and told him that i am stepping down.
Congrats, JWFreak. I was an MS, almost an elder...and it gets way easier as time goes on.
....at least according to jehovahs witnesses.. if a sister at the kingdom hall suspect her hubby is playing naughty with another woman and she finds her hubbys car has been parked at anothers womans house all night, then she can write a letter stating she is sure that adultry has taken pace and divorce him, and he is then disfellowshipped, and she still remains in good standing..............but,.
if a child tells their parents and the brothers at the kingdom hall that they were molested sexually by a brother at the hall, and this accused brother denies this accusation and there is no other witnesses to this claim, then he is veiwed as not guilty and remains in good standing.. why do you suppose the accused adulterer is treated differently.....even if he denies that he commited adultry?.
gumby.

In my case, even though it was obvious adultry took place, a signed confession letter witnessed by 2 elders was still necessary.
for the life of me, i cannot work this one out.
it disturbed me when i was a jw and it now just makes me plain angry.. here are some comments from ministerial servants & elders on this subject, which i heard when i was in:.
"you know, a while ago, people used to object to the idea of children dying at armageddon but nowadays there is a spirit in kids (massive generalisation), which just seems to make them fit for destruction.
SB, actually the WTS teaches that aborted and miscarried babies won't be resurrected because they did not take the breath of life.
What? This is amazing! I always thought that aborted and miscarried babies would be resurrected according to JW belief. I guess a fetus really isn't human after all, the JW's have spoken.
"let each one of you individually so love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
1) suppose you received a gift-wrapped package with a label that read: "handle with care.
handle with care.
Blondie, I look forward to your comments every week. I noticed you posted them on another board as well. Glad to see you branching out!
i'm not a super popular or well known poster here but just wanted to say "bye" to ya'll and thanks for another year of growth and learning and especially thanks to all you that make me laugh out loud at my computer!
i will be out in the mountains all summer doin' research and contributing to humanity's understanding of glacial retreat... aka messin' around in the mountains and trying to get in trouble with hot burly mountain dudes... .
see you in the fall!
Kudra,
I noticed you are back. Tell us about the summer research!
for anybody who attended the service meeting this week (or will this week)
notice the guilt-fest article that mentions not working overtime at work or taking weekend trips and missing the meetings.
ugh, any former witnesses remember looking down on people who went to the beach or took trips frequently on the weekends.
scan? the usual sites seem to be down.
the jw doctrine of "no blood" has never affected me, personally.
i knew that either.
jehovah's witnesses were wrong or the rest of the world was wrong.
great research, i need to let this settle for a bit.
