  What did your worldly friends think?

  at around 19 years of age i started dating a "worlding" girl and brought her to meetings to get the elders off my back (to no avail of course... i was "marked").

  needless to say word got out and some of my other friends decided to check out some of the meetings.

  one of my closest friends who had been to many church services (he is a gifted musician and played organ at his church and several others) came to a theocratic ministry school/service meeting.

  Took an associate and she fell asleep for most of the meeting. When she woke, she said, how much she enjoyed it, as it sent her to sleep!

  around here, the moment you pronounce the word jehovah witness, you can be sure that you raised the blood pressure of the person listening.. i wonder if somewhere around the world, this isn't so ?

  In a negative way, they mention that we don`t have blood, b/days, xmas, drink, smoke, etc., so really, it shows that the jw`s do not give people a good positive view of what they are supposed to be about.(maybe cos their isn`t one!)

  i will feel better once i get this off my chest, i don`t know whether it`s ok to mention the cong, but anyway, it`s hayes cong in middlesex.

  what happened, i stopped going to the meetings, and was trying to `fade`, but who should appear on my doorstep, 2 `busy` elder`s (who had nothing better to do, obviously!

  ) anyway, they said `oh sister, we miss you bla bla bla`, got the bible out, tried to make me feel guilty by reading some scripture`s out loud, brought tears to my eyes, etc.

  MW, I actually saw his wife at another hall, i was going there just before they anounced my d/f, and she was sitting in the foyer, and she looked at me with a blank expression.I think she knew something was going on, but not sure what. Oh, just an after thought, when i accused him of coming around on his own, he said he had his 5 year old daughter with him, so was even prepared to use his own daughter as an alibi! He had also been d/f a few years previous, and said that he had been out and sown wild oats etc., and i think that`s when he met his wife and brought her back in with him. I think she`s a victim and probably knows a bit what he`s like!

  Yes KW13, he still lives there, i have to pass his door every day, so it is a constant reminder.

  Katie, what makes me sick, is that the likes of me and your mum were in a weak and vulnerable state, and as far as i`m concerned, they preyed on us, and they are `wicked` men! Nikan8ter i know what you mean about the interrogation, the perves asked me, `did he touch your breasts, and other personal details. i think they got off on it.

  How many here were mistreated by their "elder" fathers?

  i am starting to notice some posts about ex-j.w.

  's being mistreated, abused, by their fathers who were elders.. i wonder if this is quite common?.

  Reading these stories makes me feel sick to my stomach, i find it hard to believe that this goes on, but it just gives me more confidence that i have done the right thing leaving! Infamous have you ever tried to find your real parents?
