So here is my solution. Start equipping some ships with modern weapons and a few mercenaries and see what happens when boatloads of pirates go out to hunt and never come back. That makes the most sense to me. Just kill the bastards.

Solving the Somalia Piracy Problem - Debate Here...
by Confucious inhey friends.... ok. i'm not saying that i have the solution to the somalia piracy problem.
saturday's wall street journal had a whole article on this.. he's my solution.
debate me, add to it, or come up with your own solution.. but the problem seems to that "people" are obviously paying the ransom demands.. lets face it... you have $100 million in oil - pirates sieze the ship - and they ask for 10 million or they blow up the ship.

They like to use that 1Tim. 5:8 verse in order to justify a wife separating from her husband.
In my experience, my ex wife worked for the state and made twice as much money as I did and refused to help with the normal household expenses. I worked full time in a job that paid crappy and did my best to pay all the rent, car loan, utilities etc. She wanted her working money to play with with her family members without me. Then she complained she wanted a second car to drive because I drove the car to work and she was stuck. She wanted me to pay for that too on top of everything else. I was absolutely tapped out. She then went to the elders and claimed I was'nt supporting her. The elders took her side. Can you imagine my anger ?
There is a difference between wants and needs.

U.S. Auto Industry deserves the grave they dug for themselves
by drew sagan ini don't know how the folks here feel about u.s. automakers (aka the 'big three').
nevertheless, right now there is a 'bailout' on the table for these folks who seem to have run what were potentially viable companies right into the toilet.
there is an article over at boing boing that i just had to share.

I'd be for a bailout ONLY WITH CONDITIONS
1. Lower the god damn prices of the new vehicles for the next 5 years by at least 70% so more people can afford to buy the product. ( You know something is rediculously over priced if you gotta take out a loan over 5 years or so to buy it.)
2. 10 year dead line to find an alternative fuel souce other than oil or they gotta pay back the bailout money at 120% interest.
3. Go back to making the body of vehicles with metal instead of fiberglass. I never felt more safer in my metal "tank".
Any other conditions someone can think of ?

email I received from a JW
by jwfacts inmost of the emails i receive to jwfacts.com are from doubting jws wanting to express their appreciation for the information.
occasionally i receive emails from active jws and although a couple have engaged in intelligent conversation, the following email i received this morning is a very good example of what jws send me.
you're bloody liars, go learn the real truth!.

You know, this email reminds me of what Bro. Ray Franz wrote in his book. He said these organizations actually halt a persons spiritual growth. All they can see is the inside of their little box. They can't see outside of the "prison".

When I saw this I had a weird, eerie feeling come over me
by StoneWall inthis morning while moving some papers off my desk a paper fell to the floor and i immediately recognised it as being the leaflet that the obama campaign workers had left with me when they had called on my door.
both of the gentlemen had been very nice and we had what i would consider a nice conversation.. .
getting back to the leaflet, it was titled voting questions & answers and as it lay on the floor of my office at home my eyes caught site of this question.

It's amazing how the Bush administration has dooped the American public that a "terrorist" named Osama Bin Laden actually exists. I also wonder how long it will take for the truth to come out that Bush is the real author behind the 9/11 attacks.

If you were DFd: How did you feel at first? (for my book project)
by Awakened at Gilead ini am starting to write a book about survival/recovery for exjws or questioning jws... i hope to have an impact on the jw community.. .
in my first chapter, i discuss the negative effects of dfing and shunning.
the wts presents dfing in a positive light and indicates that jws should feel no compassion for those that have turned their back on jehovah.

I was df'd in 1997 after being baptised for 5 years. JWs are my only religious experience in my entire life. I was df'd for their wild definition of "loose conduct". Anyways before and up to the judicial hearing I was a nervous wreck. Right after the hearing I actually felt serene and free. I went out to a bar/restaurant and sat there and drank a beer. I felt free. After my wife conspired with the elders to use the "absolute spiritual endangerment" reason to separate from me, I got angry, real angry. I then vowed a violent bloody revenge on two particular elders who were assigned to my judicial hearing when I was first df'd. Coincidentally they are father and son. I vowed to myself secretly that I'd fatally wound or even kill one of their family members just like they "took" my wife away from me. I was very bitter and angry because the dfing caused my marriage to go bad. I even tried for a couple months to get reinstated in a nearby congregation for the sole reason to be able to speak my mind to those elders about the situation.
Not long after that I got ahold of Ray Franz "Crisis of Conscience" and also his "In Search of Christian Freedom" After reading those books, all the anger and all the bitterness has gone away. I now realize that all JWs are victims. Victims of the WT cult. I went from anger and bitterness to actually feeling pity for those men. I no longer hold any resentment toward them at all. I can only hope they realize their errors and come to understand what Christ is really about. They only did what they felt was the Christian thing to do under the WT. They did'nt know any better. I forgive them completely.
Today I am much happier without that burden on my back. I am free to have faith in the freedom of the Christ.

I don't see why not, since the jw religion is part of Babylon the Great.

I laughed my ass off watching this. If I were drunk off my ass I would'nt do what the "devil" guy was doing. That said, aside from entertainment value, I think it was completely inappropriate. I'm embarrassed for them. They have to realize that jws have to come to the conclusion ON THEIR OWN that the WT is ANTI Christian.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses Break Up Marriages? WT 11/01/08 pgs 11-12
by insearchoftruth indo jehovah's witnesses break up marriages?.
"if one partner chnages his or her religion, the marriage will break up.
" so goes the claim of many people.

In my own experience, the elders actually counseled my then - wife to use the " absolute spiritual endangerment " reason as an excuse to separate from me so the lonliness would get the best of me and I'd commit adultery then she could be free to remarry. Well, it happened just that way. I hope her new husband is just as miserable as I was being married to that wretch.
