  Qualities To Acquire In Entrepreneurial Business

  what qualities do you feel are important if you want to make a name for yourself in business?.

  is it wise to be the nice guy, who does everything with fairness in mind or is it better to be a hardnosed, lying, manipulative bastard?.

  if you were to consider going into business for yourself, which 'qualities' would you employ to gain maximum business profits?.

  Many good points already listed. I have owned my own business for years, and continue to do so. For me, I feel that is the only way to make an above average income, plus you are in control of destiny.

  One thing I might suggest, is if you are going to have employees, give them some motivation to do well, and be productive. Keeping a job will not cut it. I have been very disappointed with employees and their work ethics. No one will put more time, or have a vested interest as you will. If there is a way to reward the employees based on their work, a piece of the pie, if you will, you will have workers that will make a difference. Give them that incentive. The better the business does, the better they will do.

  Also, as much as you will own your company, make sure that it does not own you.

  As far as income goes, it is whatever level makes you happy. I used to think 100,000 a year was all the money in the world, until I hung around those making that a week.

  Take pride in your work, and the clients, customers, etc will respect you, and you will have repeat business, which should be a huge portion of your business.

  I "ATE" SOMEONE ELSE'S BLOOD

  I think there are a lot of witnesses out there that really do not have a clue about blood. I bet the vast majority could not give a good argument about not taking blood. They do not have a clue other than the fact that the Watchtower says no.

  Even back in the active days, I would have absolutely allowed doctors to give blood to mysef or my family.

  I think God would much rather us do something to help ourselves and survive, and not be so cowardly and weak and just let ourself die.

  Shunning Rules Changed Again

  sometime ago the faq at jw-media stated that if one "simply ceases to be involved, they are not shunned.

  " ... now, the wording has changed to allow a broader position, one that could include even many more former jws, and "maybe" become the basis whereby they could argue that they are not apostate: do you shun former members?

  those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.

  I would love to think that somehow the Watchtower will change its views and accept anyone, regardless if they stay or go. You ask anyone on the street in other religions, and if they say they left, don't go, or even change churches, they do not get shunned. Such an extreme way to do things, and the endless hurt and destruction of families is not from a loving God.

  I personally, know that it is not "the truth" and really couldn't care less what they do, however I still have family involved, a child, and it is very difficult to not only overcome the problems with a divorce, but to be told how bad you are because you don't go to meetings, or that you will die when the end comes, is tough. I have to be completely neutral around my child, as he is being indoctrinated on a daily basis by the most un-Christian person I know. But, I cannot say anything at this point, just show him by my actions, that I am not a bad person, that one can live a Godly life by their actions, not their words.

  Tough situation. I think the Witnesses turn off more people from their extremist views such as shunning, than ever on their doctrinal issues.

  Assembly picketing

  when i went to the assemblies, i would see people picketing, holding signs up, etc.

  you would have "security" to look out for green bibles, and keep opostates out.. i never looked at them with hatred, never really gave it much thought at all.. i am curious if anyone here has participated in protesting the assemblies, and what were the reactions?

  Useless Drama Pictures

  do any of you good people of jw.com remember going to a district convention and hearing that little announcement the chairman would make before the bible-drama started?.

  it generally went like this: "please remain seated during the drama and please do not obstruct other peoples view if using recording equipment such as camcorders" and he would also say "please do not use flash photography because it distracts others and is of little use.".

  they made such a fuss anyone would think we were all going to witness the second coming of christ, floating down on his chariot onto the field!

  As corny as the dramas were, I still think they were the best part of the assembly. At least we didn't have to listen to the same ole talks over and over.

  how do you define evil?

  is evil what you are told is evil or is it a personal matter that you decide for yourself?.

  i ask, as many people will say something is evil.

  Any one or anything that purposely causes hurt or pain to another for enjoyment. I think it is as simple as that.

  i find it curious and amusing what actually happens behind closed doors, from a place that should be above reproach, and held to the highest standards.. any good stories that the normal witness folk never would have known?

  several days ago i posted a topic about how the newly reinstated could be disfellowshipped again for failing to attend meetings or particiapte in field service.

  (this was based on the issue of lacking works that befit repentance.

  ) i used cautionary language about how this ""can"" happen, but was accused of making "dogmatic assertions" and that the organization book and the flock book never authorize such, and most of all the s-77 form sent into the society would trigger a co visit were it to state such things.

  Thanks amazing for an excellent post subject. I am tired about hearing why doctrines are wrong. I want to hear the "dirt", I want to know what happened behind closed doors. I think that is much more damning.

  I am suprised that from the beginning the Society didn't require tithing 10%. There are some Christian churches that teach that, though they do not moniter it like the Mormon's do. The Society has always been able to change their viewpoints, I wonder if they will on this issue too.

  This is the first time that I have wondered how to vote. Gray Davis is a buffoon. Didn't care too much for Simon, though his company did get released from any liability in the suit that was brought against them.

  When all is said and done, I am going to have to go with Simon.
