That is such warped thinking to have someone ask if they can get their teeth done.
I thought I had heard it all. Just think of that poor girls self image. "Uh, Brother Elder, can I get my teeth fixed?"
there is a receptionist at a doctors' surgery where i sometimes give consultations who has recently had her teeth "fixed".. as she looked so much better, i asked her, "why did you not have it done earlier?".
she replied, "well you see i am one of jehovah's witnesses and vanity is a sign of pride but the elders informed me that in.
my case it would be within biblical teaching to have my teeth straightened".. can you relate to this?.

often we had threads that said, "what if we are wrong"?
but lets reverse the question and ask, "what would happen if they realized that they were completely wrong"?
imagine 6 million people not knowing where to look anymore for spiritual guidance.
That would be so cool. Beyond words.
we all remember the guy who sued mcdonalds and actually won because their coffee was too hot, but what has been going on lately in the land of frivilous lawsuits?
well here are some ideas for those of you out there who may be a little hard up for cash.. it's time once again to consider the candidates for.
the door connecting the house and garage locked when.
What a bunch of morons.
i remember watching people so well back when i was growing up and going to the meetings.
one thing as i look back on was the ban on the bathroom.. you just did not leave your seat to use the bathroom.
you went before the meeting started, or after.
I remember watching people so well back when I was growing up and going to the meetings. One thing as I look back on was the ban on the bathroom.
You just did not leave your seat to use the bathroom. You went before the meeting started, or after. You did not even go during the song in the middle.
Now, of course once in a while someone would go. And did they ever get the evil eye! What are you doing??
And of course you could never go to the back and get a drink of water. But the water fountain was right next to the bathroom, so sometimes when in the rare event that someone did use the bathroom, they usually would sneak a sip of water.
I was an elders kid, and no way in hell was I allowed to leave my seat for any reason whatsoever, especially something like the bathroom.
Being the kid that I was, I just accepted it as the way things were. But as an adult, I look back and think to myself, how unbelievably crazy that was! To get scorned for using the bathroom?!? Come on!
Was that just my hall/ prison?
what is the deal with field service.
you know i'm doing that slow fade thang (really slow).
but i was at the meeting sunday (the only meeting i attend).
So sad. For many of them field service is their only social outlet.
just read this from a 1973 wt:.
"boys and girls may start to play with their private parts during puberty and, not receiving any counsel against this, the first thing they know they are "hooked" on the habit.
and if some know nothing about such self-abuse before entering high school, the chances are they will learn of it from either fellow students or the teachers themselves.".
The WTS just gets themselves involved where they just don't have any business.
I knew a guy in the hall who felt so guilty, he confessed to the elders and lost all his duties in the hall. He was a teenager. I always figured best not to say a word to anyone.
obviously the witnesses are going door to door, but is it as effective as could be?
in all my years as an adult, only once has any witness come to the door preaching "the good news.
" this is once in over 15 years.
Obviously the witnesses are going door to door, but is it as effective as could be?
In all my years as an adult, only once has any witness come to the door preaching "the good news." This is once in over 15 years. Only once ever has a magazine or tract been left at the house when I was not at home.
A not-at-home was supposed to be worked until the householder is found. Doesn't seem like it. Are those going out in service really slacking at their work?
I almost never see them going door to door, and never have in my area. What are they doing?
When I used to go out, we covered the area fully. Everyone got called on. No exceptions. Was that just my hall, my area, or has the work been done less and less?
after reading so many touching personal stories of your lives , do you think that one day you will fully recover from being a jehovah's witness?
do you feel that in time, you will be able to heal?
will you ever be able to trust yourself and others?
I feel that I have recovered, however it was such a large part of my life I will always be affected by it.
the february 8, 2003 awake has an article entitled:"is there an unforgivable sin".notice the good news for apostates or those who once associated.
"some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against god's spirit.
they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.
Nowhere though does it say that you are free to talk to someone who has walked away from the WTS.
when i was a young child, i remember there being a small break between the meetings.
you could get up, walk around, associate, and then go back in for the second half.
at some point, they changed it to where there was just the song.
cruzan-
I remember a very few times the speaker didn't come for whatever reason, and sadly, they always made up for it. They would do the Watchtower study, and by then an elder from the hall would grab some old outline and do a talk. That sucked. So close.......... yet still they had to do the stinkin meeting.
