for some time now i've been really pi##ed off with mr johnson, who lives a couple of doors down the street.
well, him and mr patel, who runs the health food shop.they both give me queer looks, and i'm sure mr johnson is planning something nasty for me, but so far i haven't been able to discover what.. i've been round to his place a few times to see what he's up to, but he's got everything well hidden.
If Saddam was not a real threat, we would not be going to all the trouble that we are.
Some of you act like President Bush is the worst person out there. How do you know? Do you know him? I don't, but I have friends that do. He is not the big bad evil guy that so many try to make him out to be.
yup, i just reveled in another of these yesterday... what sheer, unalloyed pleasure!
sleeping an hour or so later, then shedding the pajamas for loose fitting clothes, enjoying a leisurely breakfast with several refills of the coffee mug; an unhurried hour or two with the sunday paper, then a walk with the dog, a short bike ride, a bit of desultory puttering around the garage and backyard; early dinner (or late lunch, however you care to classify it) and a peaceful retreat to easy chari and televiseion as night descends.. to think that unless they're unusually resourceful, proactive and resistant to the proddings of their conscience, an idyll of simple human pleasure like this -- a day of welcome respite and regeneration obviously intended by the creator for his human progeny when he legislated sabbaths-- is forever off limits to faithful dubbies.

I remember the first meetings that I missed, and how it felt like vacation. Now I don't know how I would find the time to fit them all in.

You can't be serious comparing President Bush with Saddam. Come on. There is no comparison.
Answer me this: You have the choice.... Would you rather live in the US with Bush as President, or Saddam? There is no other alternative. You get one or the other? Who do you choose?

I like your sense of humor, though I think the two examples are way off.
The fact is, that if your neighbor did have a huge weapons stash, had already been proven to kill his neighbors, including his own family, and did threaten others around him, they absolutely would go and get him.
Saddam has been proven to have weapons of mass destruction, he has murdered his own family, he has killed thousands and thousands of his own people, he has threatened others around them, and attacked them.
He is evil. If he were not a threat, we would not be discussing him at all. This "neighbor" needs to be put away.

Scary to ponder if she were a witness. Being the brainless, unforgiving, hateful people that the WTS are, and given their past record, I would say that Elizabeth would be welcomed back by being disfellowshipped.
The fact is, that she had opportunities to escape, or to reach out for help. Brainwashing? Of course that happened. But the WTS does not offer that as an excuse. They would make things worse for her.

This is another example of the exciting times that are before us with the way hi-tech is moving. For me, having a computer is absolutely needed.

judging by bush's recent comments and the recommendation that the un inspectors leave iraq, it looks like the war will be starting any day now.. i wonder if bush intentionally timed it so that things would be starting on st. patricks day the day that commemorates the saint who drove the snakes from ireland.

I imagine it will happen this week. It will be over quickly. There will be more guided bombs landing in the first 24 hours than for the first entire month last time. They will scare the Iraqi's into submission before they have a chance to think.
The risk we have with our troops, is when they go into Bahgdad, and have to fight in the streets. But even then, perhaps it won't be as bad as some fear.
jw children miss out on so much.
i was raised as a jw and there were so many school activities that i wanted to participate in but was not allowed.
i remember my gym teacher encouraging me to go out for soccer, i asked my parents if i could and of course i knew the answer would be no even before i asked.
Being raised a witness meant missing out on a childhood. From day one I was expected to go to meetings and sit still. An infant, then toddler, and so on. Missing out on birthdays in elementary school. Missing out on a wider group of friends. No dating, no proms. No high school sports, etc.
Did I have fun anyways? Sure, but not nearly what could have been.
